When did we have a chance of scoring in the first 80 minutes of the match? We had zero attacking game plan, as per usual. THAT is why people are pessimistic. Same garbage as per usual.

Our defense almost always plays well. We hardly give opposition team chances, and really the only clear chance of the game for Spurs was the opportunity Kane F'd up.

This can't be a serious question when the most obvious was Perisic just around the 6 yd box with a free, clear header that he doesn't hit cleanly.

we were bad. or better said; we were at our usual.
not much recognizable style, not enough ideas, plans...
I dont trust Spaletti enough, think we wont reach our best while consistency will be our biggest problem as usual.

on a good side, it was ever so nice to beat those scum, in such way, typical Inter way

With Icardi and Nainngolan you can't build a game. Politano was fucking bad. Valero and Keita changed our game at the end!

Politano was okay. Not his best game but he pressured a lot, and to be fair, had no support since we didn't really play with a right full-back.

I don't think Keita changed the game much although I do want to see him play more - I thought Valero was more important for the few minutes that he got.

The lesson I've really learned from this is never take your striker off for a fullback when you are on the back foot.

First vs Juve, Lazio did it against us as did Spurs.

Maybe they should have spent that 75 million on Kondogbia.

Up until the Chance that Kane missed we were doing good. The team pressed good. We couldn't really create much danger but there are some positives. Defense was solid, brozo had an amazing game, plus nainggolan and asa had their best games so far. We did good In managing the game and for good periods we controlled the game. We just couldn't end our advances. We are a solid team defense wise and I don't think Barca will roll over us. on attack WE REAALLLY NEED TO WORK. We can do it with this players but they need more off the ball movement, do a couple triangulation and be a little faster.

I'm still worried that if we lose nainggolan and brozo doesn't have a good game, we'll have a really hard time. The schedule is gonna be hectic. I just hope we survive until January and get some creative players.

This is my fear too. Brozo is like perhaps the most important player of this team at the moment. He's like carrying us hard, stopping us from completely collapsing. Since when he's not there, who's gonna pick the ball from CBs and deliver it further? Valero don't have the legs for that I believe.

Nice win, but can't be really happy about it. Both teams are in relegation form and playing that style football, just that inter were more lucky on the night I suppose. Still nice to beat Tottenham under any circumstances, and hopefully this win can kick start this team in to playing some actual champions league standard football.

Can someone explain the gag behind all the "riprenda Vecino" "la prenda vecino" comments? "Prendere" means "to take" right?

La prende Vecino means "Vecino takes her". Her.. is the ball, la palla.

Riprenda means pretty much takes again. Ri- repeat/again and then the noun shows what is repeated. So Vecino takes it again. As Dogen iirc mentioned, they were chatting about it before the corner so that's why they've been shouting that right after once again.

I have a soft spot for Tottenham, just cos they are the perennial underdogs and also cos I hate Manu and generally dislike Chelsea, Arsenal etc. But Pochettino makes me hate them. He is an obnoxious cunt.

We weren't lucky.

We had to face a fucked up refereeing team that came out of the 1966 World Cup.
We conceded a goal that wouldn't even be going goalwards if it wasn't for luck. It had to hit Miranda's arm to go in ffs! Watch it closely, before that last contact the ball was headed 5 meters wide, on the other side of the goal..
We didn't score any lucky goals and we had our fair share. The Perisic attempt comes to mind. If that was on the other end, the ball wouldn't go right on the keeper but at some far top corner.

We scored 2 goals because the Spurs defence was shit and disorganized. If we played a bit better, we'd comfortably win this 2-0 or 3-0 for sure. They were too awkward on the ball and still insisted to play at the back. If Icardi, Perisic and Nainggolan were in form there's no way we wouldn't fuck them up.

They had one dangerous attack which Kane fucked up before their goal, looked completely out of it for the most part and it was just Dembele or Eriksen on the ball that was worrisome, but they were too far from poising any danger, and then after that fluke of a goal they had 3 great chances with Lamela, though in one of them the ref decided that Skriniar was not fouled by Lucas to get to that chance. Thankfully the assistant ref decided to call the offside because his eyesight seemed a bit off in the first half....

Given time and lack of injuries, our team will be very good until the end of November. Hopefully they start clicking soon enough. We need to get Vrsaljko, Lautaro and Nainggolan more involved, while we have to give Perisic a desired and deserved rest. Keita and/or Politano(with Candreva) can be used for some games as starters to get enough playing time and resting time for all.

The main problem remains the lack of depth at the center of the pitch. We cannot rely on Valero for that. And Joao Mario is probably not going to set foot on the pitch wearing an Inter jersey.

I don't complain much about referees but what was with that guy? If a referee makes a big mistake but otherwise refs a good match, you can sometime say it happens.

But this guy's criteria for fouls and yellows was ridiculous. Ben Davies should have had a yellow for catching Nainggolan late, but he ignored that and then gives a yellow to Skriniar. Verthongen also made a foul on Perisic on the right wing that was a yellow but he ignored it.

Also, Icardi's fould on Vorm was probably closer to a yellow than the one Skriniar got where Son really just ran into him. Not to mention, he seemed to protect Totenham much more. No 'big' calls, but typically had no idea what he was doing.

Only saw the first half, we weren't that bad. If anything they were playing worse than us.

These games illustrate why icardi has to start. He always scores out of nowhere, and performs in important games

This is why I'm afraid. We hide the reality behind the result.
We play bad. Both team. But Tottenham is not fucking my problem.
We can pull sometimes victories out of our ass (or better say, Icardi's ass), but I don't buy it. We were bad, I mean fucking bed.
We lost already 8 points in 4 games. And it was suppose to be a easy schedule

I watched the game last night. Admittedly, I fell asleep for a while in the second half before Tottenham's goal and woke up around the 66th minute or thereabouts.

I have read through most of the posts on this thread. It goes without saying that each supporter watches a match with their own eyes and assess it accordingly. Some are more kind with their assessment whilst others are more critical. I read most of the thread before watching the game last night. From what I read on here, I thought the game sounded like a complete shit show but when I watched the match I felt a little differently about it.

Defensively, I thought we strangled the game. The high press and our intensity at the back was impressive. With the help of our midfield, we managed to contain and limit Spurs really well and I think our efforts were all the more impressive given that Skriniar was playing out of position and we did not have a recognised right back. Not to mention the fact that many of players were playing in the Champions League for the very first time.

However, what most concerns me is our lack of incisiveness in the final third. We know how to get the ball down there but are really struggling with our final execution. I am hoping that will improve and change as Perisic, Nainggolan and Icardi reach full fitness but I am still not convinced. Our build up play is predictable, not very well structured and seems to be scattered in its approach. It feels like there is a alot of improvisation but very few certainties in relation to build up play and how we execute and finish.

Perhaps the most puzzling thing for me is that we took this scattered approach for the first 80 or so minutes of the game and then all of a sudden started playing. I do not feel that we are a shit team or that we do not have it in us to play coherent team football. I think we can play but our problem is unlocking the right mentality and approach to a game and being able to play like that for a full 90 minutes.

Why were we more focused and why did we only play with more urgency in the last 15 or so minutes of the game than we did in the previous 75 minutes? In my view, it is not simply down to the fact that we were staring into the eyes of defeat. Did anyone notice Spalletti's body language and how livid he was at times with the way we were playing? I feel it is a question of preparation and mentality and I feel that our struggles this season are tied up with tired World Cup players, injuries, and in some cases like Nainggolan, a general lack of fitness and integration. I do not think that our struggles are related to not having a team/squad that is up to the task. I think it is more to do with not having a plan when we go out to play. Having said that, I do think that we need a creative midfielder to help us along. Valero is not enough to get us through the season and this is something that will have to be addressed and remedied in January.
