I thought it was a typical display from Inter. Not to dissimilar to many games last year. Udinese always seem to be a struggle.

Mariga did not have the best game and needs to seriously inprove his passing. Going into big games this could be a major problem. Biabiyani was a weak link, many missed passes, wrong moves and never really helped in tracking back. I'm surprised why Coutinho is not being used on the left. He has said at times he likes that ronaldinho type position. Like Alessandro mentions it would be great to see him and Sneijder together. Milito needs to be played to get his form back.

The return of Maicon and Motta will make a big difference. However, judging by the performances of Inter so far this season, the attacking play and left side of defence is a concern.

Anyway happy that we got the result! Good stuff. (Barc, Milan, Roma - oh dear)

^^ Nicely summed up. LMAO @BBilan, Roma and Buve all failing so hard at the start of the season.. Seems our struggling is nothing compared to theirs.

Has anyone noticed that Il Capitano's forward runs were pretty good btw? Like, when he tries to make runs and go forward, he does well and creates oppurtunities for us, but he's usually too scared to go forward. Like someone else said, him at LB and Maicon when he gets back at RB should be the way to go, with Santon as cover. Really happy with E'too's performance, like I've said before, that guy is just world-class.

Sneijder I think should take the captaincy after Zanetti retires, I know it probably won't happen and he's so far down the line but you have to see how the fans react to this guy and how in return he acts. Before any of the players even entered the pitch for warm ups he was alone walking around the pitch and just staring at the fans and waving and the fans in return gave him a great response, and during the game they go crazy at almost every touch he has and even when he walks up to take the corner and at one point I think he did a gesture for them the guy is pure class on and off the pitch and what he can do in terms of putting the ball places no one else can is just insane.

It's nice to see Sneijder is really beginning to feel the Inter-love so to speak. I hope he can stay with us for many years and become a club icon, like Zanetti. Of course, you never know what happens in football, but come on. Since when have we had such a great player + cool guy like him? He's like our best player now, and he seems like someone who really wants to represent this club, unlike some of our former key players (Vieri, Ibra 'The Gypsy Nose' Homovic) who only cared about themselves.

Since you guys didn't specificly mention the results I am going to be lenient. But last warning do not discuss the barca, milan, roma, juve, ect results in the inter match threads. Use the serie a, la liga, ect threads.

Thank you.

Nice to see Eto'o has gone back to his old self. He's been destroying as much of our attacking plays as he could get his feet on with his pointless dribbling and unnecessary holding-up the ball. Had one nice shot in the game and that's it.

This guys seriously gets on my nerves throughout the entire match, either let him play centrally or bench him rafa!

Also some of our other players had quite a bad game but I'm ready to forgive: Milito and Biabiany for example.

The point is we can not play good football with Cambi and Mariga as our central pairing as they're not good enough in setting up the attacking play, Stankovic is a better solution here as he can set-up a descent attack to an extent. Can't wait to get Motta back, his passing is what we lack the most IMHO.

Not sure how you can claim Eto'os tireless effort as annoying, yet you are ready to forgive the other two???? Players can have a bad match or go though periods where they are strggling to put a proper pass together, however, it's unacceptable when a player looks disinterested. Milito certainly is a worry with this apect.

Great comeback by Eto'o. Great to see him back in old shape.

How could anyone hate on Eto'o right now? He was our best player in this match and scored the decisive goal. He's also been the best player along with Sneijder in the first couple of matches of the season imo. Guess he's really starting to acclimatise to playing on the wings. Unbelievable that he got booked for that 'dive' in the second half, I dunno if that was a foul or not, but def not a dive.

Rather average performance yet again outside of a few players. But hey I've seen much worse games from Inter than this one. 3pts is 3pts. And it's pretty clear we miss Motta and Maicon in a big way. Sneijder and Eto'o are the only creative forces out there.

And on a related note, Alex Sanchez is exactly the type of player we need. This kid has been impressive for awhile now and he has all the traits of a soon-to-be world-class player. I'm surprised he hasn't made the move away from Udine just yet. Branca should follow him closely as he would be a HUGE improvement over Pandev/Biabiany.

Agreed. Especially about Sanchez. He has a lot of quality and is only 21 years old. He showed in the WC he's not afraid to battle it out with tough defences and great teams like Spain. He can give us so much in the attack. I know Udinese have slapped a huge price tag on him but still - Im sure they need the money too.

Another average day at the office for FC Internazionale where its probably fair that we got the 3 points in the end but we weren't really convincing. Udinese is always tough though - if you look at our string of results against Udinese since 1997/98 (when I started watching, anyway), they are littered with 1-1 and 0-0 draws and quite a few away defeats, so not bad. A champion team plays badly and grinds out the win and thats what we did today.

Q: Anyone know why Chivu came off so early for Cordoba? Was he injured?

Yeah Chivu was injured. Not sure what happened but he didn't look right when he was coming off. Hopefully Santon will be ready for the upcoming games.

"Good way of using English language to win an arguement. In fact, freaking hilarous. It was like Joey's letter to the adoption centre.

I will adress it tomorrow after the current game. I need my time to check my own enyclopedia (oh wait, that isnt how it's spelled!!!!), and then I'm all yours."

1) Who said we we're having an argument?I believe friendly debate is a kinder term. And being nice is far more enjoyable than being rude.
2) Personal attacks are unnecessary. If you believe in your points than that alone should suffice.
3) This is how I speak, se vuoi posso parlare in un'altra lingua, chisenefrega. nn mollo un cazzo.

I didn't see Di Natale's trip in the penalty box. I will watch the highlights to see if it's really a penalty.

It wasn't a penalty. Lucio tripped Cordoba and Di Natale ran into him

Excluding the penalty Eto'o had a really bad game, lost too many balls and Milito was very selfish. I hope Rafa sees this.

He literally loses every ball he can get his feet on, because of CONSTANT useless dribbling, if we could even call it that.
He is trying to prove a point to someone, but he's sending a totally opposite message!

I can't believe i just read someone criticize Eto'o for these first few matches..
Eto'o has been one of the best if not the best player for us the first 4 matches this season, he has been the only one trying and doing something, as opposed to a crappy Milito and Pandev in offense. I hope he keeps this form up for the whole season. He might lose a ball or two, but he gets a lot more, not one player in the world can do it all consistently without losing the ball.

...He might lose a ball or two...

This is such an understatement that my head hurts just thinking about it. It's not important though, everyone has their own view.

However, if you're feeling up to it try and count exactly how much incorrect passes and failed dribbles he has per match (tonight's game for example) and you'll see that it's significantly more than a few.

If you're feeling like taking statistics, take Messi or Ronaldo and count them too, i will bet you with anything that they will lose at least 5 balls a match. The best two players of the world..
