Inter is owned by Suning Sports - which is 10% owned by Suning Appliances, and 90% owned by Suning Holdings. Suning Holdings is 100% owned by Zhang.

Our fate actually has comparatively *little* to do with the Suning retailer - there is coincidence in the naming and a 10% ownership but that's about it. There is, absolutely, a bunch of 'political' implications of that joint ownership, but the actual legal direct impact is a lot smaller than people think. Everyone here talks as if we're 100% owned by Suning Appliances Group, when we arent. The retailer could go bust and the major implication for Inter is that 10% of our ownership would then be sold off and change. Of course, in reality, there'd be pressure from CCCP for Zhang to sell off assets e.g. Inter and inject cash into Suning, (well, potentially, Evergrande might actually change that view), but we are absolutely not owned by Suning the retailer.

Suning Holdings is an unrelated company. The naming conventions are misleading, but where you read Suning Holdings, you can take the name to be "Zhang's family trust".

Suning.com, for example, is apparently about 18% directly owned by Zhang and about 2.7% owned by Suning Holdings. Suning Holdings sounds like the name of the group that owns all the Suning entities and would be listed on the stock market; it isn't.

If retail goes bust, Suning Holdings obviously has to write down one of it's to 0 valuation, but they hold 2.7% of a company with a market cap of about 2.5 billions euros ATM - so their stake is worth about 70mil euros. Inter is worth much much more than that to Suning Holdings as an example.

Just to be clear why I'm saying all this

The financial woes of Suning the retailer have an indirect impact on Inter (e.g. non payment of dividends would mean Zhang has less money to inject into us). Thats the extent of what the losses at Suning retail mean for Suning Holdings. If Zhang has personal cash, or profit from other business operations be owns via Sunings Holding (such as the financial business), he could conceptually (barring any CCCP policies) inject that money back to the club.

People conflate the (admittedly very confusing) ownership a lot - we are very minimally owned by Suning the retailer, we just happen to be owned by a company that has a similar name and some owners in common
