Lol... He can't even get a place in the squad, and you are talking about him being next captain. This is the problem with ppl like you, and why santon is in the predicament he is right now. Leave the poor kid alone, his mental state clearly cannot cope with all this hype and pressure put on him.

WTF are you talking about, he was a teenager and he was training as Chivus understudy, we played him when we could and then he got injured last year and then this year everyone else got injured so we sent him away on loan to develop as we couldnt afford to while we clawed our way back up the table to try to win and ensure our champions league spot.

The problem has been the media making a big deal like our loaning him out meant he wasnt good enough or somthing. Not to mention that defense comes with Exp, he was a teenager for christs sake, he only just turned 20 while on loan. Unless a defender relys on pure speed every great defender made mistakes or had bad games in thier youth. The kid has earned his captains armband for Italia's U21, he is coping just fine and he is set for a great future.

He was a teenager, we couldnt risk him making any rookie mistakes while we were in such bad shape. We fell down the table this year and had to claw our way back to top. Thats why we sent him away on loan, in hope that he could get some playing time and exp. Nagatomo has much more playing exp and exp in playing for Japanese national team. Nagatomo still barly played at all untill we climbed back to the top.

Had Santon stayed and made any mistakes with us needing perfection then Interista would have fucking Crucified him.

Santon has made terrible mistakes since he came back from injury. He is not developing any good in Cesena. He will be back and sent away again. The fact he is making it into U21 Captain doesn't really mean anything. We need a strong character and certainly he has not shown any good signs. In ten years, probably.

I didnt say Santon is gona be a starter now, Zanetti will likely find his way to the backline next season with us buying a new Class midfielder. Zanetti still played more games than anyone and has been more consistant then anyone, no one can deny hes been like a fine wine getting better with age. I doubt he will be seeing any significant bench time if any next season.

Santon may have improved a great deal while on loan, any improvments would diffcult to notice on a near relegation team like cesena but his return with an entire summer traning together may see him break into the first team soon and if not he may become a sub for Zanetti in these coming seasons and when Zanetti retires be presented with the armband.

Becoming the captain of Italy U21 is a big deal, Italy values defense above all and that honor must be earned.

Zanetti is likely to play as much as possible, he still plays more than anyone, If memory serves me right he is set to retire in two seasons so If Santon isnt a constant starter he may become the constant sub for Zanetti, which would mean his Starting position would become available WHEN Zanetti retires.

Zanetti may hand off the Armband to Cambiasso or someone untill he retires while Santon is his sub
Then on Zanettis last game Santon may come in for him and Zanetti puts the Armband on him.

Santon has great potential and if he improves to become the player every Interista should want him to be then sitting bench despite his talent due to lack of spots would display Humility & Respect.

I admire your enthusiasm Assassin but you sound mental. In order to even be a captain at a big club like Inter, you have to be very good. You have to be consistent. And you have to be able to deal with immense pressure. Santon is none of those things right now. Being captain over a bunch of kids your own age is nothing compared to Inter, where the players are some of the finest talent on the planet (except Pandev of course) Past Inter captains? Bergomi, Facchetti, Zenga, Meazza. All exceptional players that not just Inter legends, but footballing legends.

For now, let Santon develop at Cesena, Bologna or wherever the fuck he gets loaned too and let him hopefully rediscover his form. That's Step 1 and the most important step right now

I already said if not Santon i think the only possible canidate would be Ranocchia, Santon has the added benefit of being an Inter Academy Graduate,younger and a possibe replacement for Zanetti who is likely to move to the backline with us buying a midfielder to play alongside cambiasso and a new winger for the front line.
