Mihajlovic about Juve and Calciopoli: "Trophies are won in the pitch. The revoked ones are still theirs."

Do you guys think that many players would disagree with Miha? I think that would be the usual answer for most.

Sure, if they were on that Juve team. It doesn't mean those titles were fully deserved.

I'm sure most non-Juve players suspect that the titles weren't fully deserved, but not enough to say that the titles deserved to be revoked.

What I hate is a theory that we need couple years to come on Juve's level.

Fuck that, football is so beautiful just because it's unpredictable. In past 5-10 years we had Porto, Greece, Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Leicester etc.

I refuse to believe that we don't have a chance but I accept to believe that we don't have a chance with this idiot on the bench. Bunch of alibis and loser mentality is what he carries with him. Plus constant whining.

People are talking about achieving consistency through organic growth, and we need at least 2-3 years to get even close to Juve. If you want a fluky title and then another 5 years of Juve dominance that's another thing. I doubt Leicester, for example, will achieve anything next season. They just don't have everything the big clubs have to sustain that level, once they've gotten there.

It's not fluky title if you win after 38 games.

Where did Juve finish the season before they won the league? Like 7th? One good year can propel us back to the top. Fact.

Yes, but we turned to shit overnight and gave them a golden opportunity to climb back top. This isn't happening with them anytime soon. They're going to stay where they are for the next 5-6 years and maybe more, only selling Pogba can reinvigorate their entire squad if things aren't going as planned.

Fluky in the grand scheme of things. It was well deserved, just dont think it's ever happening again for them.

Hasan, you cite a whole load of one season wonders as examples.

We want to be competitive with Juve in the LONG RUN, not just for one season.

Regarding Juve finishing 7th... That was a massively underperforming team, and the league leaders and presumed winners massively underperformed, as did other teams. Juve are probably going to be MUCH stronger this season than last season - with players like Isco, Kroos, Kovacic, etc, all linked and having signed an amazing player in Pjanic - I dont see them getting worse anytime soon.

In fairness I agree with you guys in that they will remain strong for years, but all it takes is one good transfer campaign to bring us back. We HAVE a good starting 11 that isn't far away.

But I'm hoping the loss of Buffon, Barzagli and soon decline of Chiellini will seriously wreck them. That's how bad its got that thats what im hoping for. lol

We need continuous CL qualification for 2-3 years to be competitive again I'm afraid. It's impossible to compete with Juve, with the players we can attract/afford at the moment.

I would say that is correct but we also need coach who is confident and crazy enough to believe.

It's impossible to win if you don't believe, it's impossible to win if your goal is third spot. Mourinho won CL with Porto, Klopp won against Bayern with a team who just saved his ass from bankruptcy, Simeone fights with Real and Barca for years.

Not better players. We don't need a team that's head to head better than Juve's. We need a strong team that's stronger than every other team in the league. Last night proved you don't need the best individual players, you need the best team as a whole. I'm not saying it will happen at Inter, because we have Mancini and we're stupid, but IF we had the right manager, it could be done.

Yeah, but where is Porto now? And where are Dortmund now? You're cherry picking examples where people have managed exceptional things, but ONLY in Simeone's case of ALL the examples you give has it turned into anything like sustained success.

Juve are both an exceptional set of individuals, and an exceptional team. They are a well functioning unit, AND they have amazing talent in players like Dybala, Cuadrado, Pogba, Chiellini, Bonucci, etc.

That summer before Juve won their first league title after being promoted they made extremely smart moves in the transfer market. That summer they signed players that were not only difference makers for that season, but went on to be the core players of the team like Vidal and Lichsteiner. After that they continued to remove deadweight and signed players that fit a system and would improve the team.

We can't do that because not only do we make questionable signings but we continue to sell players we should have kept. How can we improve when we start from 0 every year?

Not only that, but in that summer they also inaugurated Juventus Stadium and appointed Antonio Conte as a manager.

We, on the other hand, were too busy sacking managers and buying the likes of Forlán and Jonathan.

Even if we somehow had an amazing transfer campaign that let us compete, we would probably mess everything up the next summer. For every step forward we take, we seem to take three backwards. And Juventus got back to the top in an easier period now, with both Milan clubs underperforming, Rome clubs not really doing anything, Napoli still emerging, etc. For us to have sustained success like Juventus will take more than one summer.
