Milan, with a “shitty” coach that some fif people call him, is ONLY 3 points behind. And far less quality roster.
Yall keep talking shit about Gattuso, and all hail Spalleti.

Chievo really dicking some teams these past two weeks. Hope they're over that when we go there in three weeks.

Milan officially 4th. They have a good schedule, if they pick up the pace they are a threath to us. Leo is already scouting & laying groundwork for transfers..Paqueta, Fabregas, Christensen, Ibra..

We are in trouble now. Roma and Milan have been ravaged with injuries. We play juve and napoli in the next few weeks. Real chance we will start 2019 behind Milan. Fuck this. LS needs to do much better with the squad he has.

Milan is not a problem in terms of position, as us finishing 4th will still be OK. That being said, city rivalry and their clown Chinese management and all those injuries and yet- they are so close. Some would argue that after Higuain sending-off they would crumble yet they do so much better with incredibly limited midfield. Gattuso is lucky but definitely not a bad coach. In 2018 calendar he scored more points than Spalletti.

Milan have a hilariously easily run of fixtures until they play home to Napoli and at Roma in consecutive weeks. There's a good chance they'll pass us in the table between now and then.

To be fair away against Genoa is not an easy fixture for anyone. You could also say they have Fiorentina although that's a home game and let's hope Torino does to them what they do to us consistently.

Third and 4 points ahead of 4th and 5 ahead of 5th. We habe Napoli and Juve coming up. We just about beat spal. Hammered by Atalanta, beaten by Sass and Parma at home. Draw against Roma b and against Torino. We have been convincing against Lazio, Genoa and frosinone. What other performances have made you feel confident about the performance of the team? Maybe the Milan game, for me that's about it.

Agreed fully. It's concerning how this team can constantly make you doubt. After l'ha ripresa Vecino against Tottenham, we went on a great, great streak where we beat Samp, Fiorentina, Cagliari, PSV, SPAL and Milan. In those fixtures, the team was so positive and at no point in any of those games did I doubt we would overcome any adversity, be it PSV's opener or SPAL's equaliser or being held scoreless by Milan for 92 minutes. It was just something intangible yet so visible in the way we played. After the Barca loss, we rebounded with two crushing victories against Lazio and Genoa but since then the team has looked a bit off. It's as if that enthusiasm was a finite resource and has been used up somewhat.

As a team trying to actually accomplish something worth a shit, or at the very least, set ourselves up for a future worth a shit, we can't afford to keep switching from convincing to dubious at the drop of a hat.

It's called regression to the mean, or sophomoric slump. Point being is while enthusiastic you overachieve, and that's not your "real" level.

When will Milan regress to the mean? I highly doubt that what is happening at Inter is a normal regression to the mean case. Mino's point (Spalletti's incompetence) seems to offer a more convincing justification.

Atalanta's form since THRASHING Inter: Loss vs Empoli, loss vs Napoli.

Proves Atalanta's only reason in Serie A is to beat inter. Those fucking cunts.

Gattuso in his time as Milan coach has picked up more points than Spalletti.

.

That was my point about him scoring more points in 2018 calendar year than Mr.Spallo. IIRC, he got a job at Milan November last year, if we discard the beginning of his career, Benevento and whatnot, starting from January his team looked pretty decent. And I don't buy that "regression to mean" rationale now,(regression is more about us overachieving in the first round of the championships with 12-4-0 in first 16 games and then returning to former shaky selves), statistically looks like his Milan doesn't have major dips in form throughout (albeit pretty short) his reign as a coach there. Curious what he can do with grandpas like Ibra and Fabregas in January. These guys are on a major decline but still can do some wonder key passes every now and then especially in the pedestrian Italian calcio. And that's basicall what's needed in order to beat those Frosinone-like teams regularly.

I am more concerned with the fact that they are apparently united as a team. Even people (morelike ghosts) like Simic and Mauri still come in and don't complain. Bakayoko was publicly criticized by Gattuso heavily (he implied that he is bad at understanding tactics) yet he bounced back and upped his game big time. Gattuso is a brute but looks like his straightforward approach to man-management really works.

I won't be too pissed off even if they overtake us in the table. As long as we are in top4 and Roman clubs are out I am fine in terms of assessing this season. But, if Spalletti really loses 3rd place to Gattuso it's a major opportunity for our owners to reflect on magnitude of his coaching skills.

I wasn't sure if i should post this on this thread or last season Coppa Italia one. Anyway, Inter will play Benevento at Meazza in the last 16 of the Coppa Italia. The game should be played on January 13th.

As long as we don't let their keeper score I don't care about the result.

So let me get this straight. When you analyze Inter, you analyze whether our performances were convincing. When you analyze Milan or others, it's about points? Because watching Milan, without a doubt, they've been less convincing than us. PERIOD.
