Genoa look done-as-fuck. Compare their ambition in coaching etc. to the likes of Parma and Sassuolo. On one hand you have teams with clear ambition to grow and improve. On the other, you have Preziosi who can barely be fucked to even own a football club and who clearly takes being in Serie A for granted.

Lecce are actually 8th in the league for average attendance, behind only the traditional big teams. That's impressive. "For the good of the league" it's better that teams like Sassuolo and SPAL fuck off with their 8000 fans average bullshit. But as much as I hate them, Sassuolo have undeniably earned and cemented their place in Serie A. Barring any catastrophes, they'll be a thorny little bastard for many years to come.

In some ways, it'll be a shame for Genoa to go down considering they're a historic team and a useful business partner. They also bring in a decent audience and it's always good for bigger cities like Genoa, Bari and Palermo to have representation in Serie A. This dickhead league needs every dollar and fan it can get. I'm still in favor of reducing the league to 18 teams but whatever.

18 teams, relegate 4 of them. Good ol days.

Lecce have always had a great following. We need Salernitana to win the playoffs as well (if they make it), been a while. But can we manage 2 Lotito teams in the league?

But leave SPAL alone :(

I believe it's possible that at some point we go back to 18 teams, in order to raise the average quality.

Serie A, and the top flight of a top League in general, has to keep a standard, and in the last decade way too many teams have fallen below the bar.

But if we really go back to the 18-team format, the number of relegations will almost certainly rlbe reduced to 2, not increased to 4.

In the era of televised matches, relegation is the biggest financial blow possible, and nearly no club would sign to increase that chance.

PL has these parachute payments. If anything that will also improve the quality of Serie B teams coming up, otherwise they'll just be elevator clubs moving up and down within 12 months.

It could be easily argued that increasing an already existing parachute more than anything else would create "elevator teams".

I can see 3-4 teams agreeing on 4 relegations: us, juventus, Milan and maybe Napoli. If we want to be extra generous, maybe we can add two.

But out of 18, at least 12 wouldn't agree because they would think that sooner or later they will have a very bad season which could potentially cost them the relegation, if that is what happens to 4 teams rather than just 2.

The old formula won't ever be proposed anymore. That belonged to a time when the consistent part of the revenues came from the tickets, and even Serie B stadia often had a lot of spectators.

Wait until they sell Chiesa and they become relegation-worthy

I don't think so. I don't know how much commisso is willing to spend, but he will reinvest the money he will get from selling chiesa.

They would have to be a complete disaster in the transfer session for things to turn that bad for fiorentina

Berardi scored a stunning and beautiful goal against Genoa. he even made 3 assists in that game. he's netted 14 goals and 10 assists this season. nice achievement after his last 2 disastrous season.

when we look at the stats, he's quite impressive tbh. at 25 he already scored more than 60 goals plus making around 40 assists.

Yes Lotito owns Salernitana, but if they make it to Serie A, is it legal for same owner to own two teams competing in same league?

No, it's against the article 16 bis of Figc. If it happens, he has 30 days to sell one of the 2 clubs.

Dang...30 days to sell a professional sports team. Unfair in my opinion, but fuck Lotito.

Both Lecce and Genoa have tough opponents so I don't see either of them winning. I think Genoa stay up though (hopefully), because unless Lecce win and Genoa drop points, they'll avoid relegation due to their h2h.

Of people who watch Milan frequently, is bennacer the most over rated reptile in the league or am I crazy? I've probably watched about 10 Milan games this year, maybe a bit more and I've never been overly impressed with him
