Today the French League started (good job Chevanton, he scored for Monaco), and so did the Bundesliga. The Premiership will start at the end of August.

Why, whyyyyy doesn't Serie A start until the 12th of September??!!

All the teams in the CL are going to have an advantage over us!

I disagree. They´ll have more injuries than the italian sides.

Well we have a 20 teams Serie A now, and the last day is on the 28th of May I think, so we're going to play the same number of matches, just in less time. How does that help us with injuries?

Obviously the Italian league hasn't thought about the implications of 4 more games. Therefore, those 4 games would have to be squeezed into midweek ones. Ultimately, this will take a greater toll on a squad, and any that isn't well prepared (in depth) is going to find the going tough. Those 4 games might not seem a lot, but i am sure the players would appreciate 4 weeks with no midweek games. :)

Ciao,
Tim

Yes that's so true. And we waste a whole month while other leagues are on the way already, and this doesn't help us in the first phase of the European competitions.

Hence: Carmi making wonders - 25 players. Carmi not making miracles - 30+ players. ;)

That's a good point unfortunately, especially considering that we're already in an emergency for the game against Basel, almost running out of strikers!

Exactly. But we´ll have to wait and see when Carmi´s "magic" starts working. Maybe we can tell in November. ;)

Problem is that we must decide how big our squad will be by 31 August...

So better safe than sorry.

Hmmm well we have 34 players in the squad at the moment, how many would you keep? (I would keep 26, selling/loaning Adani-Sorondo-Farinos-Karagounis-Lamouchi-Choutos-Ventola-Zicu, and also Pasquale or Cocoif we get Cesar).

Cesar is a left winger so how would that change our left back situation? Don`t tell me Cesar can also play as a left back, even Cordoba will be preffered over Cear for the left back position.

And I don`t think we need 35 players even if our injury crisis would continue next season. 25-26 would be good but over 30 is just ridicioulos.

Frisko: Jankolovki is the only player we really need now. I wanna get rid of Choutos, Mihajlovic, Lamouchi and Sorondo. Sell those four and loan out Zicu.

So in: Jankulovski.

And out; Choutos, Mihajlovic, Lamouchi and Sorondo.

;)

Many people, including myself, think that Mancini will use Cesar as a LB. Anyway, if he plans of using him as LW, then obviously we should sell Kily. And also get used to see Recoba sitting on the bench, cause he'll play on the left or he won't play at all...

Right Gismo, lets see:

1) I don't think we will sell Mihajlovic :dielaugh:

2) You would keep Adani? I suppose you mean you'd keep him if we sold Miha...

3) Farinos? Why on Earth should we keep him? Absolutely no space for him in the squad.

4) Karagounis? He would play 5 or 6 games at the most, and maybe the Coppa Italia...

5) Ventola? Why keep him? Only if we gave Cruz away, but we aren't...

6) If we get Jankulowski or Cesar, we'd have to give away at least one between Coco/Pasquale/Kily depending of when he will play.

I´m planning Janku on LB. And Farinós should be loaned out. Forgot to add that one. Jankulovski can also feature in the midfield so we don´t need to offload Coco, Favalli or Pasquale.
