Inter are one of the richest sides in Europe and seem to have endless talent available in their squad.
Several revered players hardly get a look from coach Jose Mourinho and the Portuguese tactician has constantly voiced his desire to work with a smaller group of players.
It seems Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti agrees with the ex-Chelsea coach and insists the club will try to offload some of the "dead weight" during the winter transfer window.
"We have a squad that is too large," Moratti told Rai during half-time of Inter's 2-1 Coppa Italia victory against Roma on Wednesday.
"Not only is it easier for the coach to manage the team, but it is better for the club as well to have fewer players. We'll see what we can do."
Prime candidates to leave the club at this point are midfielder Olivier Dacourt, and seldom-used defenders Nelson Rivas, Nicolas Burdisso and Marco Materazzi, according to tuttosport.
Meanwhile, the striking trio of Hernan Crespo, Mario Balotelli and Victor Obinna have attracted interest from other clubs, but Mourinho is reportedly reluctant to let these players leave at this point.
