Amazing player and person. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about him. Even opposing fans and players hugely respect him. Curva Nord was singing his name for about 5 minutes after he was subbed. Doesn't get much better then that for a player. He's a true legend.

I completely agree.

Their singing and cheering really distracted the game and players. Was quite funny but also touching.

Good call on Leo to sub him to get the standing ovation and all.

Rafa would never have done that.

I'm so glad i am from this generation of Inter fans who have the honor to see a legend play for their team and break records. I'm so happy that the legend is my fav player from my fav team. It can't get better than that. :proud:

Bergomi: "It's nice to be superseded by Zanetti"

Beppe Bergomi Uefa.com just spoke to her relationship with Javier: "I know him well, I played five years with him. When he arrived at Inter, he spoke very little of Rambert and Zanetti. But it was clear from the first training that what he was good, and then confirmed. " Bergomi then tries to explain the secret of longevity Zanetti: "It 's a serious guy, you train well every day and is a great professional. Mother Nature gave him a physique that allows him to play great even at the highest level in 37 years and to overcome all that is winning with great merit. "Unk sees in him and crowned him as his worthy successor:" It was these characteristics, the dogma of my career. I must say that Zanetti was a worthy replacement as captain, and is continuing to do so. "

Bergomi was 17 years old when he debuted in the league with Inter Milan 22 February 1981. Zanetti, however, was 22 when he picked up his first appearance Aug. 27, 1995. "Although Zanetti came from Argentina we can certainly consider a flag of the club. Since he arrived in Italy only wore the Nerazzurri shirt. It 'hard to leave a club so important if you grew up. The shirt becomes a second skin and wants nothing more than to give all of yourself to the club. It makes you feel special. "

A Bergomi 34 games remain before the Zanetti reaches a height of 758, the total number of admissions in the Nerazzurri shirt. But given the reliability of the Tractor, it seems unlikely that we can not reach: "It 's not even a friendly player who does not jump, because he has a physique that allows him and why he'll always be treated better. At was difficult to imagine who could beat that record, but football is also changed, most games are played, both in the league and the Champions League. Then it must be acknowledged that at one point has become an extraordinary player. Records are made to be broken and if it is to be beaten by Zanetti, I'm glad. "

I thought he had another great game last night,he is starting to make some "longer" passes and becoming somewhat more adventurous in attack.I like it ,hope to see some goals and assists from him.

Always a joy to watch him going forward and dribbling through :) His forward runs were limited due to the fact that the other midfielders were given more freedom to do so by Leo.

He's the definition of a leader by example. I remember the run he did in the second half to prevent conceding a corner, and he managed to reach the ball before it crossed the line.

If I were a coach of young players, I'd sit down with them and show them every match for Il Capitano.

No words can describe him, and that's why he's underrated by people who don't watch him. If you start talking to your friend who never watched him, you'd just mention that he's 37, he's the captain of Inter and he has played more than any other player in the team this season. Then, you'll just choke and run out of words. You'll forget his amazing runs, where he dribbles past the whole team, you'll also forget how solid he is in the back, you'll forget that he runs more than young players in their 20s. You'll definitely forget that he hasn't received a red card in 11 years.

I remember in 2003/2004, that horrible season. Whenever JZ got the ball, it's the only time I could relax instead of going crazy.

Javier Zanetti is everything a man should be.

Yes, definitely remembered that play early in the 2nd half. Maicon was acting lazy and almost let the player beat him only for Zanetti to help him out and then scamper to save the corner. Any lesser man would have just let the ball go or rather got mad at Maicon for being careless :proud:

Let him watch the entire match. Then just whisper in his ear, "He's 37"
