hes probably fully amoritised by now, but i suspect that we've probably already included his profit in financial calculations since it was a long standing obligation

if not fully, then it shouldn't be higher than 2-3 million left. if i remember corectly, he was bought for 8 million in 2015.

I don't know... why would they decide to anticipate the payment when they're already in need of making a capital gain of 45m before the end of June to comply with FFP? It makes no sense, unless they have already found a club willing to buy him from them, but that doesn't seem to be the case at the moment.

Moment of payment does not impact the P&L since it s a obligation to buy, the full amount of the option will be amortized over the length of the contract starting at the beginning of the loan.
The payment date only matters in terms of cash flow restrictions and apparently Valencia are in line with FFP there.

BTW this is the reason why i think we cannot redeem cancelo and rafinha now, if we d do it now we d have to amortize those 70 mio over the next five years starting from when they arrived (assuming they both cost 35 mio and are on a 5 year contract). This would push up our cost for the last season by 10.5 mio which is why we cannot do it now.
Especially since we are struggling to break even as it is.

I'm not so sure about it... didn't we get Brozovic, Gagliardini and several other players over the years on a loan + obligation to buy precisely because we couldn't afford to register them in our books straight away? My understanding is that a player's acquisition/sale starts making an impact in the books only when it becomes permanent (regardless of whether the buying club has an obligation to buy said player).

And back to Valencia, even if they were in line with FFP, why would they want to anticipate the payment for Murillo when they are struggling to find the money to redeem Guedes from PSG?

It seems things aren't going well for him at Valencia either. He has practically become Valencia's fifth cb as he's behind Gabriel, Garay, Diakhaby and Ruben Vezo in the pecking order. He has started just one game in La Liga this season. He has asked Valencia to let him go in January. Getting 12m for him doesn't look so bad now. Glad it was an obligation and not an option for Valencia.

Speculation he will sign for Barcelona in the winter window on loan due to Vermaelen's injury and the very real possibility of surgery for Umtiti

Yep. Nothing has changed since my last post. He still has just one La Liga appearance this season. He isn't even included in the squad lately.

He only plays Champions and very badly. He was suppose to go to another smaller Spanish club. Going to Barca makes 0 sense they should just promote a Barca B player

This dude has regressed so much since leaving Granada. Blame Inter a bit for it but he was just over rated as well

According to multiple Spanish sources, Murillo is joining Barcelona on a 2m loan with option to buy for 25m. The player will take his medical later today.

Will be official in the coming hour or so, after having passed his physical at Barcelona. 2M for loan until end of season, 25M buy option rumoured but the belief is that Barca will prioritize De Ligt

If he was doing well he wouldn't be loaned out.

Basically Barca are just desperate for some quick cover. He would be there come summertime. This is basically the equivalent of us loaning Rocchi from Lazio when he wasn’t getting playing time there.

We can also offer them Ranocchia if they need a glimsy backup.
I've never dreamed to see Murillo - Rano pair starting for Barcelona :awyeah:
