I cant remember, maybe the time when JM was here everything was simple but after that we all know what happened.
Lets get in to the topic. I have a bad feeling about him coming. I believe this transfer saga is going to last until the last day of the transfer window and in the end We will get him. No one will want him that late and the Real Madrid rumor was most likely a lie.
This transfer is like a chess game who will make the next move and from both sides it looks good. We do need a player such as João Mário but we are not desperate to get him.
Sporting is in need to sell him as they will play CL game probebly against big teams and they will lose a lot of money plus I am guessing the player will be unhappy staying at the club and will drop in performance.
If there were bigger clubs after him the price would have not been 10 mill with obl 35+ it would have been 50-60 mill cash out.
Final thing I am guessing Sporting is falling in to inters trap as we have other option to buy other players were Sporting have only Inter.
