Why compare? WHo the fuck said that Wallace is worth 10? Besides, you pay for potential too, not current ability. And no, Zuniga is NOT top player, he is good one, and that's it. Stop overrating your NT guys. Realistically, Zuniga is worth 8-9, and that's it. De Laurentis asks for 20, is it worth it? Fuck no.

edit: and your logic about "offer him x amount of money because he currently earns y" is hilariously shit. It doesn't matter how much he earns atm, but how much he asks. And beleive me, it's his last chance of making some money, no way in hell he accepts wage below 2 mils. I forgot that he also has zero resale value too.

I secretly still hope for Zúñiga - he's a fuckin` GUN.

Pajo said it right regarding his value, but if we payed 10-11m for Pereira...

Dude runs like he's got 5 lungs and does his job very well [think about Pereira]... I think that Mazzarri would be much happier with Zúñiga, because he already knows him and the player already knows how Mazzarri plays and what he demands from that position.

I feel that we will eventually get him, but don't know when. This summer, winter mercato [discount panic price] or next summer for free [can be signed on New Year`s Eve :D]?!

De Laurentiis is great at acting [he's a movie director btw] and everybody knows he was bluffing with the 25m asking price, but the problem is that in 2009 Napoli signed the Colombian from Siena on a five-year deal for €8.5 million! Maybe he rethinks the situation and wants to recover some money, especially that they have ALREADY SPENT THE WHOLE CAVANI MONEY :fuckyea:

He also scored against us, which makes him a 'traditional' INTER target :D

Anybody knows where vitomins is? I wonder if anybody can provide some stats: who made more assits during recent seasons, Zúñiga or Isla?

Zuniga last season: 6 assists in 40 games.
Zuniga 2 seasons ago: 2 goals and 1 assist in 43 games.
Zuniga 3 seasons ago: 2 goals and 5 assists (two in EL) in 37 games.

Isla last season: 3 assists in 20 games (most played as a sub up to 10 minutes).
Isla 2 seasons ago: 3 goals and 2 assists in 26 games.
Isla 3 seasons ago: 3 goals and 7 assists in 35 games.

Overall in three seasons Zuniga has 4 goals and 12 assists in 120 games, Isla has 6 goals and 12 assists in 81 games, and much less minutes played.

You really dont know? I have been promoting his greatness ever since he accumulated five assists.

His crosses have been hitting the spot in the second half of last season.

Goal and assist stats are hardly the defining stat to evaluate wing-backs. I would be more interested to see how many dangerous runs did they make per game, and how many decent crosses they supplied. Many of these may have resulted in goals without them getting an "assist". And while many others may not have resulted in goals, they help the team create psychological dominance in a game and peg back the opposing team's fullback - which can have a serious impact on the final result.

Which is why I don't like the use of stats to rate individual performance in such a team game. IMO, after having watched these players play so many times, I don't need to even look at the stats to rate them as follows (performance wise):

Isla > Zuniga > Nagatomo > Pereira

I am quite sure this would not come as a surprise to many on this forum who have watched these guys play...

Yes yes. THe only think Zuniga has over naga is strength, and MAYBE drubbling. Naga is better tackler, faster, better crosser, and has higher workrate.

The only thing that makes Naga look good is the presence of Jonathan and Pereira.

I think Zuniga is a far more dangerous player in attack than Nagatomo despite the statistics not backing it up. He draws more attention and is more capable on the ball. Defensively I'd say that there is little difference between the two.

Disagree there. He might have better dribbling/ball control, but drawing more attention, not really. Nagas overlap runs are great, too bad we rarely have players in the team that have vision to see it. While Napoli does have those. Naga's also better crosser. Zunigas crossing is worse than Jonathans and Pereira combined.

Remember how dangerous naga was when we had Cassano? There were some great buildup plays from those two.

Zuniga has advantage in physical strength tho. He can guard the ball better, Naga is much smaller and can't do that. Zuniga can jump and head the ball too, Naga can't.

There were good buildup plays from Cassano, but Nagatomo's cross rarely delivered. If we need to try to talk up his attacking ability, it would be better to use the season before last.

The main problem with our wingbacks, is the lack of technique they possess.

Watch how our center backs and DM, whenever they cannot find a pass forward vertically, they resort to passing to our WB.

Regardless whether it's Pereira or Nagatomo, they just cannot use make use of the space in front of them to get the ball forward. This is something very fundamental in switching play, and they can't even do something as basic as this. As soon as there is slight pressure on them, we lose possession right away.

We can't even get the ball past our half without going into 10-20 throw ins in the process, downright appauling.

This is the thing with 3 men defense, they control our entire flank, and if they can't proceed, then we have no way of starting any play from our half.

That's why most of our attack is instigated from stealing the ball with opponent's midfielder, and that's why we lose a lot of possession when we get goal kicks. I have never seen another team as poor as us with this, its like none of our CB DM and WB is capable of passing or holding the ball with a bit composure.

And those fucking CMs, they dont help at all.
