Juan Jesus has no composure on the ball, and is a terrible distributor. The amount of advocates for JJ playing as a DM is deeply, deeply disturbing.

What's next? Play Vidic as a CF because he's good at scoring with his head?

You can never be so sure. Kovacic has not even found his best position on field yet. We presume this and that but he still manages to fuck up here and there. Santon was an attacking midfielder before becoming a fullback. Thiago Silva was a midfielder before he was a central back. He has been playing as a CB does not mean it is his best position. He might have some undiscovered talents. He is still young.

I think you're grasping at straws because you're a fan of JJ. I like him too, but there is no sound rationale for him being a good defensive midfielder. He looks awkward as a LB when he has the ball. Who in their right mind would want JJ distributing the ball in our midfield?

It is possible for young people to find out that they have talent for things they were unaware of. However, there would be obvious signs. For example a person with good dexterity and long fingers may have a talent for playing the piano and they didn't realise, but if you were looking hard enough it would be clear to someone who was paying attention that it could have been the case. Where as all signs point to JJ being a bad DM other than tackling ability.

I am not a fan of JJ but I believe he has not developed under the right environment hence he seems lost in his football.

JJ was a LB before he was a CB. In fact, when we bought him, he was a LB who can play CB, not the other way.

^^Exactly, he is half-way in between. By far his best position is LCB in a 3-man defence. Since we don't play that system any more (and would be daft to hire a coach who does any time soon), I think it would be best for him to move elsewhere.

With this bad performance, I wonder which team would pay 10M to get him. We should be grateful if some clubs is willing to pay 7M for him.

Yes, if any player gets caught out by Gareth Bale - one of the fastest, strongest wingers in the game - they must surely be terrible.

Sure Juan Jesus needs to work on positioning, but he is improving.

santon his positioning is even worse. jj is probably our most defensively solid fullback. ambrosio comes to mind but he never impressed me.

jj is a brawler and a tackling machine. if he improves his positioning he can become a beast. offensively he is already growing.


and also if he can create an understanding with murillo that would be great. the left flank would be solid.
