Winning gold in Olympics is the biggest thing in any sport. Just look at Đoković who is probable the greatest tennis player ever but anyway is so obsessed and frustrated cause he didnt win that gold.

It's not just gold in Olympics. Just being there with best athletes in the world around you representing your country is special.

Inter are refusing Lautaro playing the Olympics. That tournament isn't within FIFA scope.

Right move to make. Unless he is signing a contract of not receiving salary should he return injured.
I don’t even know if he should be mad about the decision. He doesn’t score for them anyway 😅

I agree with those who say Inter refused it for him, not in spite of him.

Great shot at the end, very little else though he did his usual (and important) hustle and closing down. Obviously exhausted.

I’d love if he stopped picking the ball up for penalties when Hakan is on the pitch, makes me shit myself every time

I had the pleasure of watching him for the whole game, he has a certain gravitas that makes the defence hound him constantly. A nice 7/10 game from him

Might be unpopular opinion but imo this coming summer is the time to cash in on him. We all know that one of our stars has to be sacrificed this coming summer and I would pick Lautaro. He’s outdone himself this season and his value is at its peak; it’s going to be hard emulating what he’s done this season again so we might as well sell him at his peak. Spend the money on Gudmundsson and strengthen other areas of the team.

Just like what we did with Onana last season.

If we do that, who will be our main goal scorer next season? I like Gudmundsson more than most, but is Thuram supposed to be our main scorer?

Lautaro guarantees 25-30 goals a season. Also, we don't neccessarily need to sell a star this season. We didn't need to last season but we did it to improve the team. Big difference is last season we had many players with expiring contracts leaving and needed big improvements after barely making the CL.

This season is a bit of a different story. Besides, if we are already getting Zielinski and Taremi, what are the big areas we need to strengthen in? Probably right wingback, but I don't see a big investment there.

Replacing a goal keeper is much easier than replacing someone who is top 10 goalscorer of all time for the club.

I am also with the opinion nobody is unsellable, but the price must be too good to refuse. For a fan favorite and captain.

I have a bigger concern than Lautaro or any single player. Marotta is retiring in 2 years. If we aren't t taking advantage of his Midas hands right now due to lacking of resource (plus ownership instability), happy with 0$ reinforcement.. who will be the guy to rejuvenate the squad?

Sorry I can't name a better director. 0$ to reach CL final and Serie A powerhouse? Also his coach choices from Conte to Inzaghi. Beat all the doubters. Giuntoli seems to be a bright competitor but it seems he can't tie Marotta boots. Ausilio..good eyes on talents but let's keep syncing a complete team out of his scope.

Lautaro thread I know :D coz he is the only one bringing us 40m per year easily.

as long as Zhang/Suning's face here, the probability to sell the starters are high. Let alone Lautaro. His contract extension still hanged on and his contract will end soon increase the chance from the board to sell him at highest money the board can get.

well if Lautaro doesnt extend, every decent owner would sell him. This is no rocket science and has nothing to do with Zhang

every team other than Real Madrid will sell key players for the right price

we got huge offers for Hakimi , Lukaku and Onana that is why they left. we needed money but you guys make it sound like they all went for peanuts.

We need to have top contracts and not go over it. Tho all these crap retired players on 3+ million a season its good for us.

with right offer marotta would sell both lautaro and thuram in one mercato

with around 100 mil for lautaro and 60 for thuram i would sell them too

its just a right time to sell

as for gudmundsson i hope for some youngster/pay later option, i would never spend pure money on him and for sure not 30 mil
