How come we have such a lousy youth training program?

We havent produced shit in years (sorry for the foul language but its true)...

A new thread should opened on this...

This is my point:
1. We dont buy new young talent...and i mean real young talent...just look at Chelsea they bought Mikel and Kalou...2 very promissing guys...
2. All we buy is 30+y old backups who are out of contract...
3. All we do with our youth is co-own them or loan then out just to never see them again...
4. The top of Europe is basing their squad on young talent...2 examples:
4.a. Barca --> Their first team is filled with guys coming from their own academy: Valdez, Puyol, Iniesta, Motta, Xavi, Oleguer, Messi,...and they also have huge talent abroad: Fabregas from Arsenal and Pique from Man U are former Barca youth products...
4.b. Arsenal...they buy all top youth talents from everywhere and mold a team out of them...

We should really do something about this pathetic situation...

We have like a gazillion youth centers abroad...we have an incredible scouting apparatus...so you're not going to tell me that we dont know where the talent is...

Then why in heaven sake dont we attract them???

This shit really pisses me off because lets face it whats better about football then seeing a young guy of your own squad making it in the big world...When Martins broke through everybody was happy and considered him one of the biggest talents on the planet...well where the f*ck are his successors?...

In stead of spending millions and millions on wothless transfers we should invest in really talented young guys and actually give them a chance...

What is happening to Potenza, DellaFiore, Beati, Eliakwu,...??? I'll tell you what...we are using them as leverage in other transactions...give these guys a chance...more then a chance...

Amen

Javier Zanetti,
I agree with you, i have been going on about the youth system for a long time, finally i have someone who understands me. most people on this forum deny the fact that our youth system is SHIT.

And because noone seems to disagree with us i think we are right...

Now they are talking about Slavkovski...but he will never get a chance at Inter and you know why???

In the second last game of the season he received a substitution (worth about 15 minutes) He was the only youth player in that match...

In the last game of the season (when we had absolutely nothing to win or to lose!!!!) Mancini callep upon a few primavera players...why not let these guys start??? Why not let Slavkovski start??? I mean we had nothing to lose people!!! Helooooo nothing at all...But he didnt even play if i recall correctly...

Believe me he will vanish in the anonimity...

 I could devote a whole topic on all the youth products that made it big in the football world (But not with Inter) I will one day, its not all doom and gloom though, we’ve got the talent we just need to change our mentality.

Milan or Juve haven't produced many talents either, so it's not just us. Italian football is in a rut right now for numerous reasons and all the best youngsters are being bought/produced by English teams and Spanish teams.

Just part of the times.

Finally brad posts something thats good (mostly cause it doesnt say 'Mancini doesnt have grey hair so he should be sacked' or 'Matrix sucks') lol, but I completely agree with you there, so you guys shouldnt be bashing Inter to much.

Andreolli, Dino Marino and Oba Oba are great talents, not to mention Bindi whos meant to be quite a keeper.

BTW that Mancini comment was courtesy of Roberto.

But we are on the verge of selling Martins...with a host of English teams (like Arsenal) interested and why??? Well because he has talent... and we are once again ready to get rid of it...

Plz dont mention Marino...he is one of my examples...ok he has talent but he hasnt worn the black and blue yet and he will never wear it...

The same goes with Andreolli...he will probably be loaned out...and he will play good there...then we will get interested in some player and the team of that player will want Andreolli as leverage...thats how it always goes...

Why do we have Orlandoni? Why not put Bindi there?...Juve has Landry Bonnefoi as a third goalkeeper a young guy and we another 30+ player...

We have a great youth base, and we produce great talents.

But the problem is in the first team.

Inter isn't the club that waits 2 seasons or three to built a young team, they want to win everyseason. Thats why they don't trust youth players.

And I say that this is the wrong method...how long can you keep a 30+ y old team together? Especially if it is filled with subtop players that are not good enough and that have to leave after a year...

When you build a young team (like Arsenal)...you will be able to keep it together for a very long period of time...you will have to do less transfers and the players will know eachother better...Thus producing results...

We need to at least give it a try...

Well where are the talents???...

Name me 5 talents of Inter in the last 5 years that made an impact...

Let me predict your answer: "Martins and euh euh euh i dont know euh euh euh"

And a true nerrazurro could never support for Gresko (just to mention)...he cost us a scudetto...

First of all it is very difficult to get a player through which wasnt bought !!!!

Even Martins was at some point bought...the same goes for Slavkovski and the others...

My point is not to have a better youth training, but just to buy more talents and actually give them chances in stead of always selling, co-owning or loaning them out...

Real: Casillas, Sergio Ramos (bought but talent), Mejia, Guti, Raul, Robinho (bought but talented)...

Chelsea: Cech (bought but talented), They bought a lot of European talents in their first year and still continue to do so: Obi Mikel, Kalou, Joe Cole, Robben, Essien,...

Man U: They have talented players in their "primavera": Floribert Ngalula, Beppe Rossi!!!, Pique (ex-barca)...and they have produced players from their second squad for years: Beckham, Giggs, Neville's, Keane, Brown and they have bough Rooney and Ronaldo...

I can do this for every team...this is what Inter has produced: Andreolli but has hardly played), Burdisso was bought and talented but is now geing used as leverage, Martins (also on the verge of leaving) and Adriano was bought when he was young...but we should do this a lot more...
