I don't think Agoume is a DM in the traditional sense either but point taken. Either way I'm fully onboard with giving him a chance.

I'm usually very sceptical but ever since I saw some random graph about his passing I've decided that this is one of the many hills I'm going to die on - along with being pro-Skriniar, pro-Gosens, pro-Brozovic and anti-Asllani.

Edit: found the graph, it was actually you who posted it here
We will die together Universe! As well on the Pro-Skriniar hill.

I’ve also been more impressed with Agoumé than Asllani.

From memory, Agoumé never struggled to get into the game. He always found space for himself, looked comfortable on the ball, recycled possession around neatly and had a decent shot on him.

You've also been more impressed with Agoume? As in how many minutes have you seen him play in general? At Inter he has played 65 minutes (compared to 600 minutes by Asllani).

I would say only time he's had meaningful minutes are those 28 mins (+ extra time) he played against Sassuolo at home in Conte's first year, in COVID summer. When we drew with them 3-3. He came in at 62 mins for Eriksen (lol) when the game was 2-1 for us, we conceded one, got the leading goal and conceded again right at the end for the draw.

You make it sound like you've watched him play (for us?) some numerous occasions. He also played in that match against Brescia, for half an hour, where we beat them 6-0 and then 6 minutes in that famous Fiorentina draw in Conte's first year when we conceded right at the end, when Vlahovic scored that great goal (he didn't play meaningful part in that goal).

I really cannot accept you can draw any conclusions from his game based on these minutes.

Obviously neither one has played enough for Inter to properly decide.

I have seen much more of Agoumé than his minutes with Inter though. There used to be a lot videos showcasing his every touch against various opponents. While regular highlight reels aren’t anything to go off, those “every touch” compilations do tell a bit of a story.

I'm a big fan of those touch compilations. You can actually focus on a player and see how they position themselves and what kind of decision making are they capable of.

Fully agree with what you say - on the other hand we don't get to see the players 'off-the-ball-movement', positioning. Which is a crucial element to the quality of a player aswell.

Specifically in the regista/DM role, that's one of the most important parts.

Anyway, some touch compilations from Troyes or wherever is a bit different thing to playing at Inter.

Of course, there's no direct substitute for actually tracking the player and watching their every game, but you can supplement those comps with something like fbref data for certain attributes to quickly see if they're actually any good. Looking at Agoume's stats for last year he's pretty defensively involved and sound, plus his passing ain't too shabby either. Looking at some videos and looking briefly over some stats only gets you so far but it's still more than having a hunch about a player.

We need to quickly send him to Turkey league or he will root at bench.

I do wonder what his thought process is. He’s basically refused every available move. Is his plan really just to sit and wait for a 30 min cameo in a Coppa Italia fixture 3 months from now? Has anyone at the club given him assurances he’ll actually get an opportunity in his preferred position? Does he think like @Universe that Asllani’s trash and that Inzaghi will eventually figure it out?

Just very weird approach to this scenario.

Maybe he like to stick around and learn something from Inzaghi and the players by training with them and watching them. He can leave on loan in a few months if he wants. Sometimes people might find something more useful than the other.

Did he want to move to France only? Wasn't that a thing at some point?

Either way though. Because he's been here for years after being signed at just 17, it's easy to forget how young he is - still only 21. I hope he AND ASLLANI AS WELL (@ChillBro) both get some chances this season.

Well, 21 are years when you have to start playing. Otherwise, your development is stagnating.
I don't think any of them (Asllani and Agoume) will get enough playing time. Would be better to go somewhere on loan (where they would be starters in most of the games) for both of them.

Yeah, it's strange.

My prediction is Agoume won't play a single minute this season. Maybe he's moving to Turkish league (saw some random rumor).
