Thank you Lucio !!! Its certainly sad to see him leave. Lets see if he doesn't go to Milan, you never know about these Brazilians.

Thank you Lucio!

I will never forget the constant pressure of our opposing teams perishing at the defense built by Lucio and Samuel in 2010.
He played a vital part in a defense that was constantly tested and this defense held its line even in the most important games. For instance, I will never ever forget the most beautiful defeat Inter ever had :)

That duel with Drogba was so fucking great. I've never seen a defender own like that his opponent.

But wtf why don't i read any transfer fee related rumors. I wouldn't agree at leaving him go on free. Why should we be so tolerant. He is still a good/great defender so why not profiting from him.

Because the club has agreed to let him go but we still need to find a team for him to go to.

Yes it might be painfull in the beginning and yes we probably would do better with lucio still starting this season but what happens after that?? We need to give youngsters time to develop and they can't do that if they aren't playing. They won't playing if lucio and samuel is at the club. One had to go in order for us to start a new cycle.

So Grande Lucio and thanx for everything.

I remember him once saying that before he goes back to Brazil he wants to play in Germany again.

Maybe he joins a Germany team for 2 years and then goes to Brazil?

His determination to fight our colour is often unrivalled. It is time for him to move on but who is going to take his place? I don't believe for a second Juan is ready and we knor Ranocchia is a regular attendant to clinic.

Well maybe you didn't get me right. By profiting on him i didn't mean to use him next season too but to sell him and not give him on free.
As you said one of them had to go and i'm okay with that. Actually i'm one of the few in this forum that isn't disappointed by Ranochia and i really believe that the next will be his year...

That part was more genereall to those who aren't seeing the big picture.

As I said we will get a transfer fee but its likely to be small like when lucio left bayern.

I have been disappointed with Andrea this season but I am still a fan of the kid. If he plays with continuety he will reach his potential imho.

Everyone's bragging about how terrible Lucio has been this season. Well guess what, this season Lucio has managed to get 4 Man of the Match awards, tied for most with Inter this season alongside Milito.

2009/10: One of Inters finest defenders ever
2010/11: Good season - especially when you think about with whom he had to play
2011/12: Lights and shadows - some fuck ups but also some great performances

When he's motivated no one's better than him. Brazillians and their damn mood swings, seriously are there any Brazillian players who are model professionals? Kaka and Julio Cesar come to mind but other than that most of them have attitude problems.

If someone says Maicon I'll fly to wherever you live and kick you square in the nuts.

That's true but he has costs us too many points, and you can't accept that from an experienced defender, he should go. On the other hand what doesn't make sense is renewing Samuel's contract who has been worse and just doesn't have it in him to play at high level consistently anymore, at least Lucio when on the right state of mind could be one of the best defenders in the world.

Pure beast of a defender, can't believe some of the comments I've read about him on here. I think people are exaggerating about how "poor" he has been this last season, he's been better than a lot of our other players. Sure he's made some mistakes but who doesn't. You certainly can't blame him for our poor season.
I'm gutted to see him leave, in his short time at Inter he has become one of my favourite plays, due in part to his legendary performance in our treble winning season, that's why i don't want him to leave, but it is the right time for him to move on.

I say to this day that Samuel and Lucio in that season under Mourinho is the best central defensive partnership i have EVER seen.

Goodluck with your future endeavors and thanks for everything. Sad to see him go but it's the right time, frankly one of him or Samuel had to go and given Samuel's status and long service with us it was never going to be him. Not going to miss his Kaka runs in midfield but I will miss the tough as nails approach he had and his presence at set pieces.
