Depends on the formation. In a 4-2-3-1 essentially yes, although they would be playing it in different ways. Guarin is a box to box while Sahin is a deep lying playmaker. Both can link the midfield to attack in their own way. However, if we play a 4-3-3, 4-3-1-2, or 4-3-2-1 we will have room for both.

Swap deal would be a dream. I really like Maicon but he hasn't been so good anymore, changing the teams would be good for both the team and Maicon himself.

Now they're rumoring Real could pay 8m€ for Maicon. Apparently they are not willing to pay Maicon as much salary as what we're paying now. 8m€ isn't that much though so I'd like at least 10m€. Even more than with JC, this is definitely the last time to sell Maicon since his contract runs out next summer. If we tie him now for ~3 years, no one is going to pay anything to us if we want to sell him with that new contract in his hand.

I'd try a swap deal for Sahin +few mill from us. These kind of cheap deals with real madrid used to work for us always. Also i can see sahin playing in 4231, 4312 and 4321 and in 433 when sneijder is out and injured.

Either Poli/cambiasso, sahin, guarin; sneijder in 4312; Poli/cambiasso, sahin guarin; alvarez, sneijder in 4321 or cambiasso, sahin; alvarez, sneijder guarin/poli in 4231.

When it comes to 433, we would play different kinds of 433. Either with sneijder in the forward center midfield or sahin in the back center midfield.


One thing is sure tho - this swap would do good for both players and with sahin our midfield would bo complete with lots of options and without worrying that someone will cry for not enough playing time.

I don't want Maicon to stay because he doesn't have the motivation anymore clearly to give his all in even half of the games in a season. Let alone if his wage was cut in half.

Isn't Real supposed to pay us a balance (6 mill I think) from taken Mou away from us??? So why pay Real money + Maicon to get Sahin? We can use that balance instead. Also, let's hope Sahin wants to join us because there is no point getting someone who doesn't want to come. I haven't read anything yet that tells me Sahin is looking for another team.

The Brazilian international stated he was ready for a change of scenery after seven years at San Siro.

He had until now been in talks with Paris Saint-Germain and Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Chelsea have stepped up with a new proposal that has them now leading the race.
