On his day, he is still the best. Will maraud on the right flank and deliver goals/assists. But those days are getting more infrequent. The only real reason is motivation and not fitness or others. Newer pastures might make him more motivated and he could deliver for you. Hope this happens, he can be good for another 2 years at max. Dzeko would be licking his palms if Maicon comes.

Only reason I can think of is they play narrow formation and wants fullbacks to provide the width. Clichy and Kolarov are good at it, Richards also does well and if they sign Maicon he can take that to next level. Otherwise I don't see any reason for them to sign him (not even sure if he can be back to his best).

I read the first post on this page, so was confused why do they need him.

Yeah if you can get Gargano then no point in signing NDJ. Few days back heard Arsenal were interested in NDJ.

I dont think we will sign NDJ we were going to get Gargano, he is twice as cheap ( Wage ) , and do seria a proven
