They showed up big time yesterday. Our midfield was great absorbing that City pressure. City is after all the best team in the world currently so I wouldn't expect Barella and Hakan to show up like they do against Verona or Fiorentina.
So much this we pretty much nullified the best Midfield in europe....
One of the reasons why i dont get that hakan/bare had bad game narrative...
It only stands if you assume all of cities midfield also had bad games or if you dont rate them as highly as the rest of the world does

The frustrating thing about Lukaku and Lautaro is that they both get in positions to score. Dzeko for example wasn't even doing that.

It's just they're completely unreliable in front of net. I'd say Dzeko is a more reliable finisher than those two, but Dzeko just doesn't have the legs to play at this level anymore.

Shame we got Dzeko at his age, he's a world class footballer we just got him at the end of his career :(

I meant in the attacking phase, everyone was superb in the defensive phase. They both got magic in their lockers. It's just not our day afterall. I dare to say we controlled the game pretty well.

That lukaku miss is killing me the more I think about it
I was watching the match with my little brother and I scared the hell out of him almost breaking my hands in frustration. Fuck Lukaku.

Easier said than done. One of those annoying what if thoughts that keeps coming back any time I think of the final sadly
It's easier to do if you realize regret won't do you any favor but give you constant pain and sorrow. I realized over the years to not linger on what is done. Even if certain events bother me sometimes I won't let 'em to overwhelm me.

It's Football. Small details decide the fate of matches; sometimes they go in your favor, sometimes they don't. Lingering on what IFs is a wasted emotion and most of the time it locks you in a cycle of anger and frustration with no end.

Beat out the negativity by reminding yourself the goodness Lukaku has done for the club. It's hard to recall it now, but it is there.

Well he did bring a lot of goodness. But after this season when he was missing for too long and even when he came back he needed some time to get to his best, it's a clear sign that he isn't worth the wages we are paying him.

Now it's the time to say goodbye to Lukaku and Džeko and bring new, different firepower.

Yep, definitely too far. From the city center it took around an hour and a half using the UEFA fans shuttles to get to the stadium. After the game it was even worse - more than two hours. Never been to a UCL final before so cannot compare but it was logistic nightmare.

About the atmosphere - on TV it really depends on the broadcasters and how they use the microphones on the field. Our end did not stop singing except a few minutes after City scored. And that was the first time we heard them. But I agree that a stadium with a racing track should not be used for a final, let alone a stadium where at least half of the stadium is not covered.
100% agree, we left the stadium around 02:00 am and it took the coach over an hour to get to the motorway lol. I also thought that it's not an ideal stadium for a champions league final.
but yeah we def. won off the pitch. i was there with people who supported city and they all loved the inter fans, gave me a sense of pride. no matter how much money a club has, a club's history and soul will always be more important and appealing and we showed both of those things on and off the pitch on that night. i felt bad for the team but even though i was always a proud inter fan i never felt as proud as on that night. FORZA INTER SEMPRE!

I think his main ability is to get random models to talk to our boy Kangyang.

I shouted for the entire neighborhood. Goddamn, when i see the picture of the different angle it just pisses me off more.

And it has not been the first time this happened to him. Shame but his story with us should end after this season

What kills me more is Di Marco slipping on the city goal. Good chance if he doesn’t slip he intercepts that ball off the rebound and it never gets to Rodri.

Lukaku miss pains for obvious reason. Lautaro 1v1 with Ederson also hurts for similar reasons.

Either way can only be proud of the lads. Our game plan worked to perfection. Just happened that the team who got the goal wasn’t us.

I’m excited for next season and hope we keep our core in tact. Inzaghi got better as the year went on. If we can even turn some of those pathetic losses to draws I like our chances next season.

Yes I’m sure a guy who’s scored 2 goals in 2023 would have buried that. As a matter of fact irrelevant argument cos he would not have even been in position to head the ball. Not a coincidence in 60mins he didn’t touch the ball once inside the opposition’s box
Yes, Dzeko would not have missed that header and you know it too, I don't care how many he scored in 2023. As far as position goes, he was instructed to play deep most of those 60 minutes he was used for. We didn't have players roaming in the box. Lukaku's miss was after we were trailing and we started attacking, throwing a lot of players in there. Dzeko, Lautaro, ANYONE else would have buried that shit instead of sending it straight to the keeper with a 80% empty net.

I think this is a bunch of crap. Lukaku's header was not one where you get to "aim". You turn your head to direct the ball towards the goal. Chances are ALWAYS that the goalkeeper can save it. Have you guys ever played any football or is it just the standard Lukaku hating? This shit is so fucking boring.

Dimarco's header was MUCH more of a "miss". He did have a chance to try send the ball elsewhere and he chose to lob it. And even then I am not going to blame him, he had a split of a second to decide.
