No he isn’t a coach, but then again he is an ex-Inter player? But I was inspired to open this thread after reading comments like these…

I think we should stick with Branca

He will improve in the next 20 years :D

Fair enough…

Ha ha very funny

Let's get rid of them bouth and get one who acctually know somthing about getting propper players to the right price. and selling players to the right price, and who can resist offers for our best players.

Proper players? Right price? Surprising comments, how can a technical director be hated when he’s only been on the job for two years?

I’ve been inspired :proud: I’m going to make it my mission to discover if Marco Branca deserves to be such a hate figure! Very brief intro - he was appointed in June 2003 and is an ex-Inter Milan player (obviously) A striker signed back in 1995/1996 and left the team in 1997/98, he’s fluent in both English and Italian (I apologize if this information is wrong). & Now comes the techincal stuff :stress: I'm gonna rate each major signing and departure since his appointment. Here goes: -

cf00156.jpg

Marco Branca

2003/2004
IN:
Helveg – Was useful, and a majority of the fans considered him Zac’s personal poodle, gotta give this rating a 2/5

Kily – Has an amazing attitude (Even though it can turn nasty sometimes) and nice work rate, I think he has improved quite a lot since Zac tried him out as a LB! His defensive abilities improved quite a bit, I don’t think he was this good in Spain. If only he would cross more often 4/5

Van der Meyde – Changed his act recently, I think he started to appreciate our Mikey Mouse league :D very dangerous going forward and that’s about it…3/5

Karagounis – Come on, everyone loves Karagounis! 5/5

Luciano – Disaster, I won’t blame the man, I just think lady luck was pretty harsh on him 1/5

Lamouchi – Overall, I would have to rate his brief Inter career as being average…I honestly think Di Biagio could have offered a lot more. 2/5

Pinilla – Chile’s wonder kid, why did we send him to Chievo? ******* mistake, I’m sure he learned a lot cause he’s the toast of the town in Sporting (Well not really, Liedson is their favorite, but they do realize they have a talent in Pinilla…Honest! :D ) 5/5

Fadiga – I can’t help feel sorry…Failed his medical and you can’t blame that on a transfer guru, but how good was Fadiga at Auxerre? 5/5

Cruz – Juve’s boogeyman, and I think he has won quite a few admirers this season (& we certainly know how fussy Inter fans can be) 5/5

Brechet – Not the talent he was in Lyon (Full french International) but that didn’t stop him from establishing himself in Spain, a good defender but is still guilty of making a few mistakes every few games (Reminds me of Ferrari, the guy was ********* awful during our First leg Final  ) 3/5

Adriano – Come on it’s the Emperor? (Could have used a cooler nickname, oh well it’ll win me over soon? What's that? What nicknames have I come up for Adriano? Well I'm glad you asked :) Kico, it sounds stupid but it has a deep meaning for fans of Flamengo, has something to do with Zico but that's another story ) 5/5

Stankovic – Not our savior, as some of you predicted (I told you it’s dangerous, so don’t go expecting Samuel/Chivu to change things either) Funky coup nonetheless! 4/5

OUT:
Guly – Was somewhat of a joke, lets be honest...5/5

Gigi Di Biagio – Fans called for his head after he scored that own goal (When we played Roma) I personally think it was a stupid decision to let him go 0/5

Almeyda – Was a constantly complaining, not sure why…But sources tell me he wasn’t happy with the contract negotiations. Good player but awful professionalism. 4/5

Morfeo – The irony, Italy considers him Parma’s danger man and Parma's engine, but yet some Inter fans think he’s the worst player ever when we stupidly played him out of position. 2/5

Okan – Never really established himself, so I’ll just blame Lippi for that! 5/5

Conceicao – No comment, well only one…I actually like the guy. (I’m not the only one, if I recall correctly, BDdragon is either a Conceicao or a Morfeo fan, hehe sorry if that information is pure ******** ) 5/5

Crespo – Hate it, but at least his departure opened the door for Adriano/Martins. 3/5

Dalmat – He had such huge ambitions, always clueless as to why he wasn’t called up to the French squad (Maybe it's because you weren't good enough) just look at him now? 4/5

Ventola – I blame his injuries, the kid could have gone places, but it just won't work out. 3/5

Serena – Out of luck veteran 5/5

Vivas- Same as above 5/5

Umit Davala – A bit of mystery (Why did he hate us so much?) can't really talk about it 5/5

Caneira – Yup, he’s the guy who Adriano punched, it’s strange to think they were roommates once. (Or is that just pure *******?) 4/5

IN:
Burdisso – He was rated the next big thing Boca has produced in a while (Defender wise) only for things to end up tragically. 4/5

Cambiasso – Revelation of the season! I’m gonna be an arrogant/cocky ******* again and post this...

MoH said:
MoH's bias Verdict: My only concern is that can he perform like he did against Barcelona? & torment Milan?

& to think some wanted Emerson :dielaugh: 5/5

Choutos – Not an injury machine as it was predicted earlier, but still a failure 1/5

Veron – Well, I don’t really need to explain myself 4/5

Davids – I knew it was a disaster; the guy had one thing in mind…Easy money (Is Solari the next Davids? Jimmy thinks so :D ) 1/5

Mihajlovic – I was a bit skeptical at first, but a certain mMontenegro opened my eyes3/5

Ze Maria – I thought he was a sweet luxury, but his debut match against Basel was quite an eye opener, and I don’t think he has stopped dazzling ever since 5/5

Favalli - I smell a poodle...3/5

Carini – Good Goalkeeper, but to exchange him for Cannavaro…Very, very, very puzzling! 3/5

OUT:
Brechet – As is explained above, his talent seem to have evaporated but he’s still good enough to hold a regular place in Sociedad 4/5

Kallon – A majority of the faithful thought we had a boy wonder in our squad, my fondest memories of him was when he and Ventola filled in for Vieri and Ronaldo, that was pure magic! 2/5

Adani – I’m sorry it had to end this way 1/5

Cannavaro – That was awful…Who was it that said Cannavaro went to Israel to fix a supposed doggy knee and that his football career was over? ******** Idoit…0/5

Zicu – Good dammit, what happened here? He was a regular at Dinamo at the age of 17? Don’t blame Inter, blame Parma…****** you Parma! 5/5

Sorondo – My memory is a bit rusty, but he had a wonder match against Roma once and disappointingly he couldn’t build the momentum, it's still early and he's young. 3/5

Helveg – No more poodle 5/5

So if my calculations are correct the score comes at…143/200

68%, not bad…As you may have predicted, I’m not a fan of our recent departures, we should be complaining about the number of players "leaving" not the players joining! & I’m already dreading Emre’s departure, it’s too painful to think about, especially since he signed a new contract not a while ago. If that wasn’t bad enough Vieri and Recoba are supposedly on their way out, it’s going to be a painful summer. :scared:

Anywho, thanks to Branca we managed to get Mancini, and that was quite a coup, convinced players like Recoba (30%) and Vieri (I can’t remember %) to get a wage cut, which was another great accomplishment. (& was highly praised in the media)

So for that I’m going to raise his score to erm, a bias 170/200. He might not be a media hog like Moggi, but the guy has a mission and from what I’ve seen and read it’s working out beautify. All you Branca haters get a lousy 000.0000000009/200.

"What about Inter's revenues from the 2002/03 Champions League?
Marco Branca - There were already pre-existing situations, with Inter in the red. Revenues from last year will help us to sort out a few small things, but we're still far from having an acceptable balance."

"Inter's transfer campaign for next season is already underway with the signing of Karagounis...
Marco Branca - Karagounis is a very versatile midfielder that the club bought several months ago by taking advantage of the fact that his contract was about to expire. He will take part in the first team retreat in Riscone di Brunico. "

Please, please don't ever call us Inter Milan :frustrat: . That's our fcking "americanised" name and we're only incorrectly known as that name. Say INTER, Internazionale, Nerazzuri, Nerazzura I dont care but anything but that pleaseeeee ;)

On the brighter side..

Great point MoH. I never hated on Branca...only with the Cannavaro and Davids incidents. We've gotten Adriano, Cambiasso, Veron, Kily, Stankovic, Ze Maria ... all players who are starters and have proven to be excellent.

Forza Imperatore.. what is wrong with you? He makes this huge, insightful post and you have to criticise one little stupid thing. I hate it when people miss the bigger picture, or were you just pretending to be an ashole or something?

Anyway, MoH this is very well done by you and I found it very useful. Now we can finally see that Branca is a true professional. Personally I've never commented on him, ever. Now I can comfortably say that he doesn't deserve the criticism many of you have given him.

One thing you should all realise is that you can never be sure that the next player signed will make a huge impact. Branca shouldn't accept the full blame if things don't go well.

Anyway, next thing we'll know is that Handoyo is locking this topic because Branca is not technically a player or a coach. :dielaugh: :scared: ;)

Yep, Branca was an Inter player in mid 90's. I loved him when he was at Udinese, and although he didn't score much, I always rated him as a player, and his first season @ Inter proved how much of a good striker he was, a Bierhoff type of striker, he was.
Favourite Branca moment? His goal against Milan, which won us the game 1-0, stuck it up the farkwits!!
Also remember he stuck up for Ince when Ince was carded for clapping at the Cremonese fans when they were racially abusing him, good on Ince and Branca.

Marco Branca is doing an amazing job by bringing discipline to a team that have always lacked that.

This is both on an economic and behaviour point of view.

As a player, he'll always be in my heart. Why? I only went to see the derby once in my life, and Branca scored the winning goal after only 5 minutes :proud:

Early 30's mate.
Experience is hardly extraordinary mate, its just that somethings you remember, and Branca's actions that season will remain in the minds of many Inter fans who saw him defend Ince when he was racially abused and score the winner against Milan.
Just as you and your era will remember the way Inter scored 3 in 5 minutes to beat Sampdoria 3-2.

So right. I bet you can never forget Ruben Sosa as well catanha, right?

When we almost caught Capello's Milan that year, and Sosa just couldn't stop scoring...

Branca+Ganz formed a great pair for us in attack, with weird shirt numbers, 27 and 23 lol.

That derby I mentioned was a Milan v Inter, so I went to the stadium with my brother and I thought I was going to be in a Milan sector, so I had to be quiet. But the 3rd tier had a mixture of fans, I was so happy!

It was a chilly winter night, one never to forget! Milan 0 Inter 1 :proud:

Actually Inter Milan is the short for our full name FC INTERNAZIONALE MILANO. But seems that many pple have an allergic reaction to the word Milan. :D

Well I'm not to fond of it either. I prefer the name INTERNAZIONALE instead of the nick names like Inter Milan "pretty irretating if you ask me"

so in the future I would prefer if people stoped calling us Inter Milan. I hate it. our name and Milans name should not be named in the same sentence.

I dosn't change the fact that I hate it.

I know it's the English word.

But why can't they call the city Milano like everybody else. Well It might be because I'm danish and we call AC Merda for Milan and nothing else.

But luckly Internazionale is not called Inter Milan in DK but Inter and in some rare cases Inter Milano.

Everybody else? Inter Milan is American? Never knew that  I don’t really bother myself with calling the Nerazzuri, Inter, Inter Milan, Internazionale or Inter Milano, it makes no difference (We are based in Milan after all, and should be proud of it) :D

Yeah his good moments were getting screwed by Vieri time and again for putting sucky crosses into the box. :dielaugh:
