Unironically, 34 these days is like 31 10 years ago. Back then players it was very rare to see a 35 year old player at a top club, but whatever happened in the last 10 years, footballer's longevity has been extended by like 5 years. You can find many top players at 35 and older. Benzema won the Balon D'or last season when he was 34. Lewandowski unofficially 'won it' when he was 33.
