I read it's 35 +5 on almost every site. Few are reporting it is 40 +5, and i've seen only 1 with 35 WITHOUT bonuses.

If Real want a player, very few cases can resist that. Kova is not an exception.
The most important part is finding replacementS, but we are shit at that. If Ausilio is at Moggi/Marotta level, then he would find another top talent (eg. Coric) and a quality mature player with that amount. No one could complains. Why don't just snatch a midfielder in exchange from Real when they have loads of those (Casemiro, Lucas Silva, Illaramendi) and receive less money, instead of buying shits like Melo??

If we were Rubentus, or even Roma, I'd too think that €35m was a good price.

But the fact remains that most of the players in our starting eleven have arrived within the last 12 months. And none of them possess the same qualities as Kovacic. With the sale of Kovacic and the following reinvestment, we will be even less stable, even less coherent.

If most of our players are bad, and most of them are recent purchases, it indicates that we will indeed not spend the money earned from Kovacic wisely, and that we may have been better off keeping him.

I would say the same thing, had we got €50m. We are probably the only club in the world, where selling a player for three times the fee we spent is a horrific deal, simply because not only are we not able to put the money to good use - we mostly put them to outright bad use.

Real Madrid have officially announced the signing of Mateo Kovacic from Inter, on a six-year contract.

News of the Croatia international’s sensational switch to the Merengues broke over the weekend and he will reportedly become the most expensive Croatian player in history, with the deal thought to be worth around €35m.

Real Madrid CF and Inter Milan have reached an agreement for the transfer of Mateo Kovacic, who is tied to the club for the next six seasons,” read a statement on the club’s official website.


“The player will be presented tomororow at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, after undergoing his medical examination.”

Kovacic departs San Siro after 97 appearances in all competitions, in which he scored eight goals.
