I saw a lot of Darmian at Manchester, where he looked totally mediocre. I also saw a bit of him at Parma, where he looked even worse.

As for Darmian, IL COLPO DI MERCATO

On a more serious note, it's hard to say who was our best signing. Vidal and Hakimi have had some great performances but they have been inconsistent. Pinamonti and Nainggolan have barely played (for different reasons). Kolarov has been a disaster. Perisic return has been underwhelming so far. Darmian certainly is our most consistent signing.

I can understand bringing in Perisic instead of Darmian in halftime. We were already behind 2-0 so he decided to go with the more attacking player. But keep starting Young when he has been bad on every occasion makes no sense. Even if Conte doesn't trust Darmian on the left he could simply play Hakimi on the left and Darmian on the right. Hakimi had played plenty of games on the left wing at Dortmund. He isn't as good as on the right but he can certainly play the position.

Darmian also provided a nice assist in 10 mins play as LWB against Crotone. I know it doesnt say much as we were already leading by 5 and Crotone probably played with 10% intensity, but he still deserved credit and chance to be tried again on the left.
