Imo letting Godin go would be a mistake. We would be an injury/suspension away from starting D'Ambrosio/Ranocchia. You need to have at least 4 cb who are potentially starters when you play with a back 3.

No one is saying our 1st string isn’t good. It’s pretty incredible actually outside of Candreva and who ever our LB is.

Having great first 11 (still we're not there as our wingbacks are not great) does not equal having great squad. I understand we cannot have equally great two elevens, but we have still some way to go. We need another very good midfielder or very prospective midfielder. Tonalli would be enough with Gagliardini as 6th I think.

Then we need 2 great wing backs, plus 1 or 2 (depending if you rate Candreva high) backups.

Then we need 1 more central defender, with inclination to play on the side that is better than Dambrossio.

On top of that, we need a valid long term (not giroug) sub for Lukaku who can play for a few months without any problem in case of some injury to Lukaku and we also need a valid sub for Lautaro.

Still some distance to go, but we're on the right track. Summer should be mercato of wingbacks it seems as this is currently the most lacking area of our team (ergo 2 short term solutions already now). Conte seems very dissatisfied (he is not wrong) with this beat.

But if you dont want Giroud as a subtitute for Lukaku, who is the one that you want and that will accept to be a sub potentially for the entire season? There's a very high probability that Lukaku doesnt get injured and he will always start ahead of anybody else in the league. Giroud as a target man in EL is ok.

This is a very good mercato if we sign Giroud and can send Vecino away and get a better midfielder. WBs are questionable as players but at least they are quite cheap and not long commitments anyway. Giroud is a good backup acquisition and Eriksen is of course THE shit.

Flipping Vecino to EPL and replacing him with a better midfielder would be like icing on the cake.

Spallo's formation fucking sucked. Don't forget last season Radja, Perisic and Icardi had spells of not playing so we always had some shitfuck playing as well. People tend to forget that Icardi last season was horrible, Radja was a blimp from the Roma player (still liked seeing him on the pitch) and Perisic didn't give a fuck since it was not a World Cup season.
