How good was Illicic last season? Heard he’s available for 5m, could he be a better short term option than Correa?

I've been one of the biggest Ilicic fans on this board, but nah, hes not worth it. Could he play like 2 years ago. Perhaps yes, but its just too big of a risk. He also always had a problem of being gassed out after 60 min. Now its probably after 50 min. He's still one of the most skilled players in the league and one of the best assist men, but Inter just doesnt need him. We dont even have a place on the field for him, as most of the time he likes to play as a winger pretty wide. So yea, just let Milan have him, at least he can say he played for a big club once he retires.

The stated reason why we hired Inzaghi is coz he plays Conte's formation hence would need minimal changes. But one of the others reasons is that Inzaghi is a puppet who won't complain about the mercato or walk out of the club. Inzaghi needs Inter in his cv, even if its a much depleted side which only competes for top 4.

So I doubt Inzaghi has much of a say in the mercato. At best, the club will throw him a bone like buying Correa (to replace Martinez).

The best thing will be when Lotito uses the funds from Correa, a player who's entirely useless to Sarri, to get Kostic.

I would rather give a chance to Satriano than bring Scamacca. Btw what happened with Raspadori? Wasn't he supposed to be the Sassuolo guy Inter wanted to invest on? There were lots of rumours about him earlier in the summer but none since we sold Lukaku.

Honestly, you shouldnt follow Romano's stream. He generally doesn't break news on twitch, just rehash what already reported and add his own take on the rumors for fan interaction.

What upsets me the most is the stunning lack of creativity and preparation. All these names, Zapata, Correra, Dzeko, are so obvious, dumb and desperate. Two are way too old for their pricetag/wages, and the other is a dud.

How are these the only names we're hearing? How were we not scouting for replacements before Lukaku's transfer became public knowledge?

I won't blame Marotta & co. for much, but not preparing for Lukaku's departure is unforgivable, it negates the great amount we received from both Lukaku and Hakimi.

no way would someone be dumb enough to start both of Dzeko and Zapata. Also without Hakimi I don’t see the team having the speed to make Zapata effective.

Coutinho comes to mind as a potential Correa alternative. Makes 8.5m iirc so not a big concern.

Give them 5m + option and he costs less than Correa will.

They need to offload Umtitti, Dembele, probably want to get rid of Griezmann as well and a bunch of average guys like Dest, Sergi Roberto, Neto etc who make quite a lot.

Coutinho isn't a priority for them to offload and I wouldn't want us to get Ousmane Dembele, even on a dry loan.

Some may not get registered so we could poach someone when that happens.

Barcelona's problem is they need to shed salaries and I don't think many clubs can take those salaries. So if Inter offers to pay 50% of player's salary, does that even help Barcelona enough?

Pjanic for sure though his priority seems to be Juve. Umtiti could have been an interesting gamble but we rushed to extend Lolarov. I don't think Dembele would suit in our system so no point taking. I don't think they would let any of their fullbacks go after selling Firpo. I also doubt they would let Griezmann leave after losing Messi. We can't afford him anyway. I would certainly take Coutinho on loan if Barca are willing to pay a part of his salary. Much better option than spending 30m+ on Correa.

Considering our situation, this wouldn't be too bad. At least on paper.

If messi was still there, Im sure we could strike a deal with Barca paying like 60% of the wage. But now Messi is gone, they will certainly give him another try.
