But numbers aside, his skillset doesnt have a glaring flaw i.e. ball control like Lukaku’s. Honestly, it’s very hard to argue that Lukaku is as good as Kane or Haaland.

I'm definitely not saying he's as good as either (though an argument could be made for Kane), and apologies if it read that way. However, for Chelsea's situation we could have got more and didn't. The Haaland comparison 'conjecture' comes from comparing two relatively similar players whom Chelsea had an interest in, what's Messi got to do with anything?

In terms of Hakimi, we needed to sell but not as quickly as we did! If we didn't need to sell we would have slapped a higher place on Hakimi, right, so then we did undersell him, because he's worth more than what we did sell him for?

Sounds like semantics, it probably is, but it's my opinion that we could have got more money for both of them even when taking into account the financial situation.

1. 35 years old striker who only managed to score single digit goals in league last season;
2. 32 years old rotational forward who struggles to play continously;
3. 34 years old drunkard midfielder who spend more time in hospital and nightclub than on the pitch; and

If I were Lautaro, I would keep repeating this fact during contract negotiation like a broken record until our halfwit management acknowledge his stature within the club.




Furthermore, Bastoni's wage is very huge for 22 years old. I am not denying his quality, but we can end up like Dollaruma when we no longer afford to increase his salary.

I think that report by GdS was simplification. I remember reading the salary will be 2.8m and with bonuses the salary can reach 4m.

Thinking about that, it makes sense that way because we tied thst contract pretty early, compared to other players needing renewals. I doubt we would have gone 4m just like that with 22-year-old player, despite him being a starter. We have two other starting defenders with more pedigree making less.

Probably it is lesser, although even at 4m I'd be happy with that, it's more like a recognition for his achievement. I'm not surprise if we offer new contract extension again next season with minor improvements but with the intention to spread that amortization cost.

Nevertheless, Bastoni's wage is the least problem we got here. There is more urgent player contract that need to be solved soon.

Not me, Frog, DDA and Kolvorov were hanging around the stadium with cardboard signs " Will work for Food" . That's bad publicity, so they signed them ASAP and they were cheap relatively speaking. Moreover, they're great locker room guys!

Well it makes a difference. If he makes by default less than 3m, that's under 6m gross compared to almost 8m gross.

All these millions will make a difference because we need to give raises to Barella, Lautaro and Brozovic too. That's extra 2-3m gross for Barella, 5-6 gross for Lautaro and 3m gross for Brozovic.
