I would say we have made just as good of a mercato. Milan looks like they have better attack, but we have better defence with a lower tier goalkeeper than Milan.

The derbies are going to be crazy

Milan has only a better goalkeeper IMHO.

All things considered we’re a much better team than how we ended last season.

Losing Onana stings but a great GK is a luxury, a good one like Sommer will do just fine.

DiMarco and Dumfries ended last season playing well and haven’t skipped a beat and Cuardado and Augusto and depth means our wing play will be constant for 90 minutes. Our central defence is better than it was last year too, now that Pavard is here.

Our starting midfield is by and large the same as last year and there is more depth on the bench, Gagliardini was first off the bench at times for us last year. This time it will be Frattesi.

Lukaku fucking around really hurt us in attack and we will likely struggle to replace his end of season production. Strikers scoring goals is something we will likely struggle with but I’m happy we didn’t end up panicking and wasting money on Skamkaka. Atalanta is holding that L hard. I still think the collective 4 can score 50 goals between them this season.

Considering the situation I’d probably say this is an 8. Best mercato in a long time probably since the 2009. We didn’t overspend, we lost a big part of our team but used that to build back better.

I’ve been thinking about it and I’ll give it a 7.5 given our circumstances.

Pros:
— Pavard
— Frattesi
— Augusto
— Thuram
— Getting rid of deadweight like Gagliardini, Correa (kind of)
— Lowering wage bill
— Lowering average average squad age (although not by all that much)

Cons:
— Forcing Brozovic, a club legend and one of the best in his role, to fuck off for less than his market value (to the Saudis no less  )
— Skriniar walking for 0 (yes I will put this in this window)
— losing Onana (although we did get a decent fee)
— wasting time with Lukaku… again
— Samardzic fiasco
— Missing out on Vicario
— not signing a physical midfielder

Neutral:
— Sommer, decent keeper but only a short-term solution
— Bisseck, wildcard: we’ll see
— Arnautovic, not an inspiring signing and probably too costly for his age, but I also have a sneaking suspicion that he could end up being effective
— Audero, fine as a #2 I guess
— Cuadrado, I hate him but I think he has something to prove and is a decent rotation option sporting wise
— Losing Gosens, he never really took off here but I still don’t like losing a player with his sort of character and potential output
— Bringing back Sanchez, ehh at least he’s better than Correa not making 7+ mil anymore
— Renewing De Vrij, seemed like a mistake to me, but he’s played okay in the first two matches; maybe he will find his feet again
— Letting Handa walk, could have maybe been useful to have around for another year but I get it
— Dzeko, was a contributor but also too costly

Listening to Dimarzio Inter earned 100 mln and reinvested 100 mln in this window of mercato.

There are a little possibility to buy someone else.

In the beginning it was 'slightly' depressing to see how the mercato was evolving. It goes to show we all should have patience to see how things unfold in the end.
All in all great mercato - The team looks more balanced with quality this season compared to last. I'm confident and looking forward seeing Inter this year.

We have the deals for Pinamoni and Asllani done as well. So, we are another +10mln here.
Those deals were done year ago. That listing shows the deals we made this summer. Frattesi is 33m in that listing while we didn't pay for that sum yet, it's similar to Pinamonti and Asllani deals.

We don’t have any more roster spots so Sensi will have to leave to add a new player. That or a club trained player.

Eh, we are still underrating Theo, Pulišić is currently firing on all cilinders, they had good buys overall. Reijnders or what is his name is their mvp after two games. We have to be prepared that this Milan also has some firepower, I feel their attack is more potent than ours for sure. They get more chances

Yes, I am very wary of this Milan side. They looked good in their opening games. Pulisic and Reijnders have already proven they will be great for them. Especially Pulisic.
