What a horror-fucking-bad mercato. Actually, if Forlan is our only buy in the attacking department we are screwed as hell.

We need a new team any way except for rano, lucio, pazzini, Poli, Caston, Sneider, and Alvarez. So regardless of whom we buy if the team isn't reinforced in all positions. We are doomed.

Not really. If we get Zarate/Tevez cheap i'd almost be pleased with this mercato. Regardless of that we have to change to 4-3-2-1..

What's up with that list? Beats me.

Well, those old times weren't that bad. We did get Carini for Cannavaro. ;)

Like Stefan, I'd also say we have done well after 2005, the year Branca joined our management. Last summer was bad, but it's not Branca who decides if money is spent or not. This summer again, we have to save some money. Financially speaking, signings of Poli and Forlan are just magnificent. Jonathan also seems to be a bargain for what I've seen so far, same goes for Castaignos. It's too early to say much about Alvarez.

Also, It's not automatically a mistake when an acquired player doesn't perform. Management might have had all the right reasons to sign a player, but things doesn't go well for one reason or another. Thus avoiding mistakes is simply impossible. We should also remember that the biggest flops were the players Mourinho asked for. Other than that, we've spent our money well.

Comparing our transfer campaigns of last 5 years to some other big teams, I think we look quite good.

I would say that this year's transfer is good enough, if we play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-1-2. But if we are going to play 3-4-3 we are lacking at least another CB and a Winger. Forlan and Poli, are good signings.

You can negotiate with all players, all agents and all clubs.. But the only one who make a decision is presidente. Branca just a consiliere..

He just suggest a move, and he take the part to negotiate.

I dont blame moratti and branca,.
For moratti if he take this club to bussiness mode, than its the way that we must accept..

For those who said, moratti was suck and stingy to spend money, i'll ask you back, how many marchendise inter that you buy ?

Think deep and clear. Dont make a decision when panic. Its just make it more worse.

If inter last merchato was forlan. So be it.. And its gasp job to optimize the squad,.

Its just my 2 cent.

Hah... I mean... funny to be OK with losing Eto'o, but Santon leaving is a big problem? Santon still has potential, but I'm sure the staff are getting frustrated by his lack of development.
He's 20 fucking years old. what development are you talking about?

the problem is us, clearly. we're just not good at nurturing young talent.

yeah but in typical inter fashion we've somehow managed to screw that all up in a matter of months.

The strategy seems clear to me, invest in youth, cut down on wages and transfer fees and look towards getting a staduim buit

oh sure, that's why we got Forlan then... youth :p

Don't kid yourself, there is no strategy here, no well thought out plan, just impulse and action, its the inter way :slick:

Exactly, Forlan was bought for youth!

2 years of service will give the youth time to grow and take over. Obviously a risky move, but that IS the strategy

SE SALTELLI....
you guys both have valid points....

Forlan will be that "transition period" player for when our boys turn into men. However the nature of his transfer points to being anything but planned..............

it was just another case of settling from our management!

I have or have had many shirts since 1989, and in general buy 1 or 2 every year. From Klinsman, Vieri, Recoba, 3 ronaldo shirts (yes i loved him), Eto etc., but this year i wont buy anyone. I hope for the sake of Inter not to many fans do the same.

Shirt sale and other merchandise are or can be huge, just remember CR9 to Real.
