I actually wanted Guarin to leave but I also wanted Handa and a different coach. Guarin had market value unlike most our guys and in his place I'd give Kova and Duncan a shot. I wanted something unrealistic which would only happen in Fifa which was get Udinese coach and start only our youth players. I wanted everyone gone (except Juan, Kova and Handa if we couldn't get at least 20 million for him or a player). Get rid of everyone with big wages, another middle table finish but get our house in order(no one makes that much money but Palacio).

--------------------Bardi/Handa---------------------
Naga-------Caldirola ------ Juan/Rano ---- Juan/Mbaye
-------Duncan----Kova-----Obi(new player)
-------------Quintero------------
----Icardi/Longo------------Palacio

BEFORE YOU LAUGH THIS TEAM WILL FINISH JUST AS GOOD AS OUR CURRENT TEAM WILL AND WILL ACTUALLY WANT TO PLAY FOR INTER. No way this team is worse than our last year squad.

Transfer in
- Quintero - 5 million for half or 10 for 100%. We could also have given Pescara a couple players
- Icardi - he cost us what 12? Again trade for a players
- Promote youth players

Transfer out (at least 76 million, 100 if we sold Handa)
- Sell Handa if we could have gotten 20+ for him plus saved on his wages - 24
- don't resign Samuel or Zanneti (saves us 10 million euro) - 10
- don't sign Camp (saves us 4 million euro) - 4
- Sell Guarin (at least 15 million euro transfer + 4 million a year) -19
- Sell Rano (at least 15 million euro transfer + 3 million a year) - 18
- Sell pereira (at least 10 million euro transfer + 3 million a year) - 13
- Contract Term Stank, Chivu, Cambi, Milito (mixed bag as the argies will go to teams in Argentina but the other 2 want golden handshakes) - at least 10 million euros will be saved
- Jonathon & Schuletto try and trade them
- Don't sign Carrizzo who has been shit since he left River ( save 2 million)

we don't have caldirola anymore...plus it's impossible to get Quintero now, even he plays bad for Porto

too much money

That is what we should have done at the start of the transfer window. Obviously we can't afford to do it now. 3 man defense doesn't work with our roster. The coach needs to figure that out and start playing a formation with the players he currently has. It really felt like 3 guys vs 11 today

Can you show me a single post of mine where I blame us finishing 9th solely on Guarin?
You constantly criticize Guarin for an inexplicable reason. Out of all our shitty players that you could criticize, you choose Guarin, who is good, especially in comparison with our overpayed grandpas.

 I was going to respond to your post, but then I read Guarin is good. :yao:

Clearly you must be competing with Wallace for the FIF troll award.

I wonder how you guys feel about this...

One problem at Inter is that sometimes we try to be the gentlemen of the mercato. While likes of Galliani tries to play all sorts of dirty, backdoor tactics while bargaining with clubs (Montolivo, Honda, Ljajic, etc), Inter quite often try to follow the rules in spirit as well (eg Zuniga), at least with clubs we have a history with.

Just to explain, Galliani has first agreed deals with Ljajic & Honda on the sly, then made the players do half the dirty work for him - all the time claiming that he is happy to wait for the contracts to end. Then he has sent over some cheeky offers, to tempt the clubs to make some money out of a losing situation. There is little wrong with this tactic, most clubs do this (maybe a little less obviously), in fact most people would call this the smart or clever way of doing things.

Inter, on the other hand, asked Napoli for Zuniga at the beginning of the transfer window. De La told us to get lost, and we stepped aside. Surely, with Mazzarri connections with the player, Inter could have easily done what Galliani did. In fact now it looks like Juve is doing exactly the same for Zuniga what Milan did for the above mentioned players.

What do you guys make of this? Am I reading this situation wrong? Should Inter be doing what Galliani & Marotta do? Or is it just a question of competence?

I personally think this is a double standard within Inter. In some cases (like Zuniga), we end up taking an useless, hypocritical high moral ground. The only right way to do things in the mercato is the shrewd way, and the likes of Galliani & Marotta should be commended for being clear with the approach - they need to do what is the best for their club.

We just try to be too nice (selectively) at times, and IMO it is just stupidity.

Exitus acta probat + All's fair in war and love [business more so]

Life is filled with situations where you're the loser if you play by the rules and be nice.

In the end Milan will have Honda and Ljajic, play good football and qualify for the CL.
We'll end up with 3rd tier players, finish out of EU competitions and proudly die in our own shit for yet another season.

Milan may get Honda but I don't see Ljajic going there this transfer window. They don't need the money and it doesn't seem like Adem is going to force the move.

And If the rumors are to be believe inter did make a bid for Zuniga of $10M, right after Marotta took Isla off the market.

this is a very good observation, I also hate it when they (especially bbilan and juBentus) do it. They did it for many players!
It's always like this - it's in our DNA, that's why we are INTER - proud and different from other club's phiholosphy. It makes it even harder, but IF we get the results we deserve everyone's respect.

We try to do our best within rules and our limits. This is obviuously a long-term strategy and we want to keep a good relationship with everyone, even if we are paying for it at the end of the day.

Yeah, acting like gentlemen towards other clubs (Silvestre ) and acting like assholes towards own players (Sneijder, Schelotto ...).

I really hope that the takeover by Thoir will take place as soon as possible. We definitely lack a good DM, RWB. With just two good signings on those positions our first team would look amazing. We need to sign someone like Luiz Gustavo and Isla and not some shit like Wallace and Taider. We have enough talents by ourselves, we need some guys who actually can contribute right away. Otherwise I fear that we will have to suffer another whole season :depress:

Scolari said to Gustavo he should leave but it seems that Wolfsburg is close to him. It that's true I really wonder how they will do this season. Like Matthäus said: They will surprise many.

Thats actually would be quite good if you had re-invested the money to sign Dragovic, Paulinho, Strootman, Muriel/Osvaldo. Leave Camp alone, he is a very good defender.

I clearly know thats is not gonna happen, just what I would have done if i was incharge.

I'm not gonna argue with someone who thinks Cambiasso is still an important player.

One thing I find difficult to comprehend is our incessant hunt for talents, and mediocre players available at a bargain. With the exception of precious few players, not one transfer has improved our team - or even maintained the quality of the player which it replaced.

That is why Alvarez was selected captain. He was the one player out of 11 players on the field, who'd been with us the longest; 2½ years. This is because of the way we've behaved on the transfermarket. By not buying quality players, you are simply buying players who you will struggle with selling in the next transferwindow. And most likely, the sale will result in significant losses.

I'm so tired of transfers where we, the fans, can tell in advance that the club will be looking to offload the player within a couple of years. I'm also tired of applauding the management for letting go of wages, they handed out in the first place. Every time we sell someone at a loss, we're pleased with letting go of the player's wages, and use this as an excuse for the low transferfee.

Precisely; imo we should be buying the some of the best u25 players in the world today; which is why I suggested purchasing Serge Aurier or Guerreiro for the LWB position.

Tbh Clement Grenier for 10 million would've been an absolute steal; we should've sold Álvarez and Kuzmanović for the acquisition of the necessary funds for Grenier's transfer.

We've spent I believe 50-80 million on deadweight transfers; obviously these financial wastes have burdened our team, and if we had prioritized young quality over sheer quantity, we could've had a much stronger squad.

So the possible tactics for my above squad would be:
0 0 0 Icardi 0 0 0
0 0 0 Belfodil 0 0 0
Pereira 0 0 0 0 0 Aurier
0 Juan 0 Ranocchia 0 Hugo 0
0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Handanovic
2nd lineup:
0 0 0 Milito 0 0 0
0 0 0 Palacio 0 0 0
Nagatomo 0 0 0 0 0 Zanetti
