That one goal against Juve was enough to make up his high salary?! That's an odd way to rate someone, specially when that someone is one of the highest earners in the squad and he's not even a starter for the club.
Radja also scored against Juve and that crucial goal against Empoli which sealed the CL spot for us. How does that not make up for what he cost us?
Relax bro
There is a thing called ”humor” and thats why put
emoji (a tongue in cheek).
I think your comment was little naive and cheeky so I reply
All seriousnes we paid Roma what 45m and lost Zaniolo in the process + severance payment worth around 1.5 million euros… and Radja had drinking problem and affected the whole club morale/feeling that seems pretty bad for me!
Vidal cost us 1m + wages and he will leave without severance payment, if I’m not wrong? He has been useful when he has come in the field and have been professional. He was also Conte reguest and if we had missed Vidal it might have affected Conte mood and whole team and scudetto? Of course we all hoped Vidal to have bigger influense at field and he was good at Barca… but now we know he has not been his best and age got him!
But he is one peace off scudetto winning team, supercoppa winner and coppa italia winner and I have respect to all those players who participated in that! Conte also had used Vidal in his system and thats why its was easy choise for him to pick him instead of Tonali…

I put those stats to point out couple of things. Usually if you have that many honours you have done something right and usually you can ask bigger salary? And can you imagine young players like Barella, Bastoni, Skriniar, Lautaro, Esposito… see player like Vidal ”world class star” who has won almost everything and is/was one of the best players in their position and now you can play/train with him… he give you encouragement and tips and you want to impres him with your skills… who you have seen in the tv to play those biggest games at our time… and then you see drunk Radja sleeping with Spalletti in the training ground? What a role model we have here…
So Radja was a cluster fuck if you compared him to Vidal! Vidal also played at Juventus and thats why it was special when he scored against them and we also ended Juventus scudetto run and they did not get that 10 scudettos in a row… that is huge thing! Its called ”rubbing salt to the wound”… Radja did not play at Juve and he played at Roma.
Its also easy to hindsight and forget what the climate was back then… we also had lot of young players like Bastoni, Barella, Skriniar, Sensi, Lautaro, Esposito or players who had not won anything…
With many young players you need to spend 10 times more time with them and nurture them when shit goes real and hope they don’t mess up and mess up their confidence, how you need to train or what to do to get to become a better player and how to follow coach tactics and not to try some naive solo effort… Thats why almost all managers prefers older, more mature and ready players if your goal is to win trophys!
With experinced players like Vidal who has played at biggest teams and games from world cup to CL final to winning almost fucking all… I bet to have these kind of guys in your locker room, they are gold for youngsters and whole team, eaven if they don’t start or perform at their highest level. Especially when your last trophy was a decade ago!
You cant just have bunch of kids who need time and guidance and easily lose focus. So with Tonali and Kumbulla would have added more work to Conte and shit loads of giudance and experience would have been missed. Those older players are like fathers to young boys and extra coaches to managers. Can you imagine to Tonali, Vecino or Gags to give pointers to Barella how to win and how to be a better player or what to focus when you play a bad game
Now our young players have matured and have absorb winning mentality from Vidal, Sanchez, Kolarov, Conte and are ready to continue without them and carry the torch and help new youngsters improve and become champions and cycle goes on…
You can’t just single out one or two things (wage/performance) and shit all over, but you have to look for the whole picture! Players, what coach want, what team need, finance, inviduals performance, mentality, training culture, age distribition/experience… So I think Vidal has been solid for us, but now its time to him to go, but I will thank him for his efforts at Inter shirt and I hope he can help us to win another scudetto
