My bad. They did at the time. Both Montella and Iachini were mostly playing with 3-5-2.

When we talk about the duties of a RCB/LCB we can't ignore one part of their duty and focus solely on the other part. Whether we like it or not these positions move forward to help the attack and Skriniar is very much limited in that regard, no matter how defensively solid he is. Inzaghi won't ask Skriniar/Bastoni to just defend because they're CBs, nor they march forward by themselves because they're bored! You divert the duties of defending which my post was about to make it about attacking. This is centerback positions we're talking about. Skriniar will be wasted at de Vrij's position no matter how bad you make him up to be at attacking. There's a reason Hakimi had such adventures on the right flank and Skriniar is one of the biggest reasons.
With someone as good as Bastoni on the left and Skriniar on the right we even afford to have the likes of Ranocchia between them which is why I find it much easier to find a replacement for de Vrij's position instead of Skriniar's/Bastoni's
Milenkovic made a name, playing exactly as RCB in the three man defense. Since Fiorentina have switched to 2 CB, the quality of his game has dropped, therefore his value did. I still believe that he can recover his form, if plays as RCB again.Yeah you right but I'm curious to see how we made that judgement as Fiorentina doesn't play in a back 3 right? I like him as a defender but haven't see him play to much.
We have vecino + vidal expiring in June. Sensi probably leaving + gags expiring 2023.Ginter on a free would be great as long as it doesn't mean one of our starting cbs is sold. Else, we would be back to square one in terms of squad depth.
I prefer Frattesi over Nandez and i don't see the point of signing both of them. Our signings in midfield should be Frattesi/Nandez and a creative CM to challenge Hakan.
I am ok with Digne only if Inzaghi is desperate for a lwb in January and it's a loan move without obligation. Else, i would rather wait till summer to sign Kostic.
Perisic + Dimarco is more than good enough for the left side, but I guess if Dimarco gets injured Kolarov becomes first choice for either LWB or LCB. Probs a good idea to cover ourseves.
Dimarco apparently is Bastoni's sub now and Kolarov is mainly a PR guy, trying to convince a replacement (ie Kostic) to join Inter.Perisic + Dimarco is more than good enough for the left side, but I guess if Dimarco gets injured Kolarov becomes first choice for either LWB or LCB. Regarding the last part, and that’s probably the most integral part, Bremer at the moment doesn’t at all look like a downgrade to De Vrij’s current level.Yeah, it def looks like that if the rumors are true about LWB hunt for us. Digne seems likely to go to Chelsea now that Chillwell goes to a surgery and his season is over.
About the De Vrij discussion, we need to remember the renewal. Raiola is probably looking at least 6m€ net (there were rumors of 4.5m€ net demand which sounds almost absurd to me) and I think we aren't willing to give De Vrij that. This is not about improving the team, this is about finances. Without limitless resources, squad building is always about finances too.
So we "swap" De Vrij for Bremer but halve the salary cost (and we also generate nice plusvalenza for the fiscal year in the process). These are simply things we probably need to be doing in the foreseeable future.
I think this is obvious based on the rumours and even Inzaghi's quotes about the areas we need reinforments. The strange thing for me is the level of players we're linked with. If Inter are just looking for a Perisic backup you would expect to read names like Biraghi, Kurzawa (God forbid ), Hickey, Parisi etc. Not names like Kostic and Digne. It seems like to me we're looking for post Perisic from now or perhaps we want to put pressure on him for the extension. It's clear that Inzaghi views Dimarco as more of a LCB than a LWB.
That's really not his natural positions. Not any position of the 3 back line formation is his natural position, what the hell are you talking about? When we talk about the duties of a RCB/LCB we can't ignore one part of their duty and focus solely on the other part. How Skriniar gets wasted in De Vrij position? That's his natural position; something which RCB is not.
Yeah, central defence is not a central defender's natural position. What the hell was I thinking?!That's really not his natural positions. Not any position of the 3 back line formation is his natural position, what the hell are you talking about?
modric came from bosnia/croatia league others from serbia league eastern europe has talent. s america and n america has tlent it is not just brazil/argentinathe problem is everyone thinks unproven players = lautaro, skriniar, whatever
in reality, the vast majority of unproved players will be Botta, Jonathan, etc.
Untapped markets arent untapped because they're a wealth of footballing expertise that no one knows about, they're untapped because most of their players are shit.
I dont trust any situation where we are relying on our scouts to do a good job
Efficient market hypothesis is bollocks and so is the notion that all teams have the same access, information and reports on playersI mean efficient in the idea of the stock market - e.g. any player on our radar has probably been extensively scouted by other teams already
