Didn't we lose to Messina last season despite dominating them the entire game?

Anways we shouldn't change much from what we did against Artmedia. Maybe Oba instead of Recoba and that's about it. We need consistency.

if Recoba is fit, then I wanan see more of Recoba- Adriano, com'on you shouldnt feel bad about Martins or anything, we all know we have 4 great strikers, however we should always opt for the best duo,

Adriano-Martins is not working cause Adriano is playing outside the box and Martins is getting nervous in the box and the result either Inter doesnt score or a midfielder saves our ass like Figo, Combiasso, Veron.

about Solari i think he should be used more to get back in from, but its hard to bench Stanko, Figo .. however we can rest few players now and then but keeping the rest the same.

The most important challenge for Inter is to win the mental game vs. Inter itself. if we managed though, then we can win anything is there to win

Three words: Change of Formasion! :D

We tried an ill-fated 3-5-2 that day. We should stick to what we have, and order Adriano to play like a lone striker no matter who partners him.

Finally people are starting to realise that Recoba is the ideal partner for Adriano.

oh, I've just read our upcoming fixtures. No wonder some of you have said that we had more difficult matches earlier this season than Gobbi and Bilan.

(Current standings of our opponents are in brackets)

13 Sunday, November 27 2005 15:00 MESSINA - INTER (17)
14 Saturday, December 3 2005 20:30 INTER - ASCOLI (15)
15 Sunday, December 11 2005 20:30 INTER - MILAN (2)
16 Sunday, December 18 2005 15:00 REGGINA - INTER (14)
17 Wednesday, December 21 2005 20:30 INTER - EMPOLI (9)
18 Sunday, January 8 2006 15:00 SIENA - INTER (13)
19 Sunday, January 15 2006 15:00 INTER - CAGLIARI (20)
20 Wednesday, January 18 2006 15:00 TREVISO - INTER (19)
21 Sunday, January 22 2006 15:00 INTER - PALERMO (10)

Apart from the Bilan game, the next difficult game will be on January 22 (two months from now!) If we can maintain a winning streak, I'm sure we will be close to Gobbi by that time (if not top the table ;) )

I think our team starts to find the new rythm for this season... Figo help us this season.. while Adriano got the rest and more specific role for the best performance...

We should win this game and the rest.... Fiorentina can beat Bbilan so there is no reason we can't... But we should keep our concentration high...
players' fitness are in our favor right now.... so I hope for a good winning streak.. Last year we start the rythm after the new year, this year... it comes earlier...

Even I wanted this duo. Lets hope that this duo will get to play more often. Especially against Messina and the following matches. I would love us to play with the same formation (with 1/2 changes) like that of against Artmedia. The only changes we could make are:

(1) Wome <--> Favalli
(2) Solari <--> Stankovic

:)

Until Martins shows in training sessions or match practices that he's regained his forum, we should start Recoba alongside Adriano, basing on Adriano's preference. The thing is, if both Adriano & Martins are on form, I believe it's better to play them since it's much harder for defenders to guard 2 goalscorers at the same time. However, at the same time, it's harder for our team to play with 2 goalscorers at the same time, unless they're on form, clinical, show no mercy and finish up every chance our team created.

But for now, let's start Recoba and if he showed that he can consistently produce the goods with Adriano, then Recoba it is who should be our starter.

I agree Han...It would be also great if Martins comes off the bench after the oppossing defence is tired. He would make them suffer tremendously with his speed.

Who knows maybe under those circumstances he would get back to scoring and regain the touch..I really believe that he is one good pass away from scoring.

If I rember correctly last season Messina defeated us 2:1.

How are they doing this year? Do they play good/get results in their own turf?

We should definitely not underestimate them, this game in my opinion sounds easier than it really is........anyway since Capitano returned from injury we started winning games, coincidence I don't think so, we look much more solid with him in the side :star:

FORZA INTER FORZA CAPITANO.

Beat us they did. Cruz scored first for Inter but Rafael struck the winner 3 minutes into added time. :stress: It didn't do any significant damage to our season though, and that was the last Serie A match that season that we concede a goal.

Messina Home
5 played
0 wins
3 draws
2 defeats
4 goals scored
9 goals conceded

Not very good, I must say.

Not taking away any of Il Capitano's merit, it has only been 2 matches, both in San Siro, since he's been back and with all due respect, it was against Parma (who had a horrendeous away record of 0 points from 6 Serie A travels this season) and CL debutant Artmedia Bratislava. Still, 6-0 from our last 2 matches is a very impressive record and hopefully, it will continue against Messina.

Hello everybody.
I haven't been here for about 3 months and I have missed you a lot. Unfortunatly, comparing to last years, nothing hass changed & .......................... Ok. Let's be posetive. We can catch Juve, I hope that we would decrease the gap to 6points by the X.mas. Even if we wouldn't, then there's no problem, there's always another year. Isn't it?! and this is what I have said for 16 ( 17: I hope not:() years.

Ok. After such a warm greeting let's get back to the topic!!!

I don't want to sound impolite, but how the hell can oba be compared to Chino? Sorry, I like Oba a lot but Oba is so selfish, his strenght is his pace and nothing else. After 2 or 3 years he'll lose it and then he'll become a normal striker. Haven't you undrestand it yet or I'm wrong?Recoba's technic, power, experience is much better than Oba's. Remember his shoots' power and speed. Do you remember Inter-Sampdoria 04-05 and also many other. Even Adriano confessed it. I say that Recoba is much consistant than Oba. I can't forget all the certain chances that Oba has wasted. Chino needs time to play, he has what Ronaldinho has. I have most of the matches that Recoba played for venezia and samp. 3 nights ago I saw the Barcelona-Rapid wien match. I compared Recoba with Ronaldinho. I'm sure that Recoba can do what Ronaldinho does in Spain. GIVE HIM SOME TIME. I hope that we wouldn't be so cruel to Recoba and send him to another league at the end of this season if we couldn't get the best out of this great player.
Sorry if I said something that some of you dear friends don't like.
Sorry.

Welcome Ali, it has been a while.

I agree with you, Martins seems to be about pace only these days. He started like this, but then he had a period where he improved in his dribbling and finishing, but now it's back to just run, run and run.

And he tries to accelerate as soon as he gets the ball, which results in him falling way too many times. It's comical at times, he gets the ball in a good position, but then falls right away.

I repeat what I said earlier, we should loan him to a Serie A side where he can play everyday and learn, not in our expense. We can't afford to have a striker learning when we are trying to win a championship.

Welcome back Ali, we missed you too.

I totally disagree with you on Oba, he has a huge impact on games, and Chino hardly ever has any impact at all. Speed, strenght, determination. No tecnique? Go watch his goals against Bologna, Milan, Fiorentina, Sampdoria.

Anyway, Yahoo Sports probably line-up:

12 Julio Cesar

4 J.Zanetti, 23 Materazzi, 25 Samuel, 16 Favalli

7 Figo, 14 Veron, 19 Cambiasso, 5 Stankovic

10 Adriano, 30 Martins

Cordoba should be rested.

Line-up looks good to me.

The reason why Adriano - Recoba duo does well is coz Adriano is a scoring striker while Recoba acts as a feeder, which sadly is not the case when the Martins -- Adriano duo plays. I have almost watched all Inter's matches uptil now and I am also referring to last season, and I have always been saying that Recoba -- Adriano duo most of the time have done very well. This duo good look together, coz they exchange passes. Sadly with Martins, usually it's just the speed and he really has to learn alot with ball controls. Another thing which is very important is that Adriano too doesn't pass that much when played along with Martins.

One thing i want to ask all of u guys, if u are right now the inter coach, and u have to choose the striker to work with adriano in the messina game or any other game: Do u prefer martins to start and recoba entering for him at the minute 50/70 of the game, or recoba starting with martins entering for the same minutes?

In my opinion, Cordoba and Samuel should play now together as many games as possible before the derby. Cordoba played ~70 minutes against Artmedia and he has a good stamina. He should play with Samuel this one and against Ascoli too. Then he should be rested against Rangers and would be ready for the Milan match.

Samuel and Cordoba playing together is a must. Consistency is key in defense and it is such consistency that can lead us to have the best defence like last year during the second half of the season.

I second that as well and had been waiting for the Samuel -- Cordoba duo since ages. They need to play often and there's no reason why they should be rested against Messina. After all, they have just started playing together in the centre.

Like many of you, I also feel that

J.Zanetti-Cordoba-Samuel-Favalli

is the best defense line-up. But how often do they play together? We should keep on using this until the Bilan game (except for the last CL game, in which I hope Mancio will field a reserve team)
