Can’t blame Skriniar. If Inter consider him an important player, they should extend his contract earlier. Other players extend late doesn’t mean Skriniar has to do the same. The club waits until the final 6 months and expect the player to extend? In their ideal world, the club take no risk and the players take all. The player must love the club and extends even if they have much better offers elsewhere but does the club love the player and extends if the player has a serious injury or has a bad year? No way. They might even force a key player out at any time in order to achieve a financial objective.

Skriniar has a better offer from Psg to play with Mbappe and Messi… while Inter plays with Dzeko and fat Lukaku. Easy choice.

70 million euro wasting to 0 , better sell him now 20 million, Of course he said he loves Inter so much.
Marotta already know this, he want sell him last two summer, but everyone don't agree.
Now we are broke, i am sure we replace him with Smalling. No chance he come back to Inter just like Hakimi.

The problem is why we not renew him last summer, or just accept his terms and sell him to PSG next season.
Hakimi + Skriniar on PSG right side make me cry btw.

Funny how at least 80% of the people blaming mgm for not selling him in summer were the same people who almost lost their shit at the thought of only selling him for 50mio in summer. The power of hindsight strikes again. Also can anybody clarify when was that time that we were shopping him around? Only somewhat serious rumor that ever came out about him was the PSG rumor last summer... But sure we were shopping one of the best CBs in the world around just nobody was interested.

As always the blame of not reaching an agreement lies with both parties period.
Only thing that slightly pisses me off is skriniar not even willing to sign an extention just so we can get a lousy 30 to 40 mio for him not like PSG would not offer a insane salary cause now they have to pay a transfer fee of 30 mio....
He knows we re cash strapped and we d desperatly need it yet he does not seem to give a fuck....

While it s well within his rights to not give a fuck about us or our finances it s not what i expected from skriniar. Hence i m a bit disappointed in him.
Again not his mistake that i m an idiot and thought he actually cared about the club.

Who knows, maybe he will sign the contract in May. That would make us all look silly 😅

Curva Nord said they won’t boo him tonight and will treat him with respect like every other player, until his future is made certain

Surprisingly mature from those guys don’t you think?

Fucking Sunning and management are only one who must be blame. If we were not able to extend his contracts, we would sell him not like now let him go free. I blv Skriniar was so loyal to the club and he tried to stay as much as possible but we didn't the appropriate salary he deserved and also we didn't respect him as much as we should.

Yea this is Inter and we always must nag and put blame on players not ourself. "history repeats itself"

Again how the fuck is this only the mgm fault? Only way it is 100% mgm fault is if skriniar told em i want 7 mio or i m out and they still did not sell him....
This to me looks a lot like miss comunication where the two parties never talked straight bt both thought they d eventually find an agreement and here we are now.
No way mgm would not have sold skriniar if they knew his demands back in june........ If they did know his demands then they re absolute idiots for keeping him but since marotta is not the one to lose players for free usually i dont think thats the case.

To me it looks like both parties assured each other that the priority is to continue together and that a agreement will be found. Than both parties found out that s not the case when actual numbers got involved.....

Like who says that skriniar back in june was not saying to our mgm that he wants to stay and that he will sign an extension?

Most puzzling thing is that we are rumored to replacements that would cost more(on yearly basis) than renewing skriniar at 7 mios...
Then again those rumors could be bs just as well as the ask of 7mio by skriniar could be BS.

I believe also that was the case.
And this is the reason I am for a salary cap. Official and transparent.
Are you a here for 4 years and one of the pillars of the team - max salary is 6m. Are you here for let`s say 7-8 years, max salary is 7,5m. Then the players would know exactly what to expect. Is he receiving better offers or is in high demand and obviously he would not be able to keep him, then we could find a transfer acceptable for both parties. This is just a random example. But something like this must be established.

An official salary cap won't work. We're not running Uber. The market is highly dynamic and ironically you'd also need to account for inflation. But there should be clearer guidelines on how much we are willing to spend on free agents. In the past we would allocate the transfer budget to a player's salary. This needs to stop. As an asset older players have little value. We might be better off with youngsters going forward.

One sentiment that I cannot get is why exactly should Skriniar give a fuck about the club’s financial issues, regardless of how much he loves the club.

His love for the club is to be shown on the pitch and when dealing with tiffosi, not in doing favours to its fuckhead management who can’t manage finances for shit.

I go with @andrei . Management is fuckin crazy to let this negotiation took to this situation. we could offer our most possible salary and give him a specific time to answer. If his answer was negative, so we would have sold him that time.
Just look at Milan how they lost Donnarumma, Hakan and Kessie for free, we shouldn't do this mistake as well.

Chill, We can't beat PSG in player salary, they can pay 2 or 3 times better than us.

They can pick any player they want, except the player want to play with their dream team like Madrid or Barca.

When ACM was losing players like this... Donnaruma, Hakan, Kessie... I was talking that ACM management is dumb. Looks like our managament is dumb too. Even, I was thinking that Skriniar will stay, since I considered him an Interista like Brozo. But unfortunately, after all, something changed inside him, or he was never that big interista as we considered him.

Generally, when a player comes to the last year of the contract. You should try to extend him, if you can't make a deal with him. Then sell him for the best offer. In a half year he will be able to negotiate with other clubs and sign for them, so then it will be even harder to make a deal. So every club that is not rich as PSG and City should sell player when it's in last year of contract. Better then lose him for nothing.

But to be honest, I liked the fact that they didn't sell him. Was hoping that at the end Skriniar will stay for small rise since he loved Inter.

Some people expect our players should play for free or half because they LOVE the club!
Messi loved Barca but they gave him the most salary ever and I think if the club offer a lower salary to one of the pillar, compared to the other club, its totally disrespectful.

Milan also got lucky or they were smart, cause Maignan was even better than Donnaruma and Tonali started to perform at a high level, so the exit of those players didn't really matter. oh and Inter also choke, so that was also a big help.

Is 6 million net salary per year free or half free to you?

If this was because of some 500k difference, we would be having negotiations still. All points out Skriniar simply going after money and glory, complete opposite of what he's been signalling.

Management yes fucked up on this one. But what a bitch Skriniar is for doing this. Many things can be true at the same time.

LoL dude, nobody wants favors by him. He just had to say that he wants to leave, not to keep silent in order to get that fat bonus by PSG. Plain and simple.

Hence why i said there was/must have been some miss communication for which both parties are responsible...
No way in hell would marotta not sell him for 50 mio if he knew he could not resign him....
It might be that skri got greedy once he saw that PSG offer.... It might be that the zhangs promised something to skri or marotta that they now cant follow through with...

Again in summer everybody involved in this was still saying it would happen and that includes skriniar...

Also what cafe just said.....
And i m not even blaming skriniar if he got greedy once he saw that sign on bonus and salary.....

Also just for the record this is not about a difference of fucken 500k or even 1 mio...
So your telling me our mgm lets a 50 to 70 mio asset walk for free cause we dont wanna pay up 500k to 1 mio. Common guys no matter how cheap you think the zhangs are they d jump to do that deal if that was an option.
Again we could resign him turn around and sell him for 50 mio easily, so you must think that our mgm is not just bad but completely incompetent if you think this is the case.

Sadly i m starting to think skriniar is pulling a messi here.....

Edit: It might also be that skriniar already knows he ll sign here again and he just is trying to get the best offer out of the club by making em sweat.
Not highly likely but he would have very little to lose if he indeed does not want to move.

I was talking generally, not only about Skriniar. if he leaves the club just for 500k more, he would be a fuckin bitch. however if there was a disagreement only for 500k, they should be responsible for this fuckin RISK if we lose Skriniar. I wonder how they could put the club at such a fuckin risk especially after seeing what happened to Milan.

I REALLY hope I'm totally wrong and they would be able to extend Skriniar's contract and we wouldn't lose him for free.

But hasn’t Škriniar been underpaid pursuant to his value on the pitch for at least the past 2 seasons? If he was offered his value in salary for the past two years wouldn’t this have alleviated the current sign on bonus + big salary he is looking for?

The way we all have to see this is that he hasn’t had his payday despite performing at a high level.

If he received his worth 2 years ago, would he be looking for it now?

Isn’t this what Perisic was alluding to when he said that you don’t leave negotiations for the last minute with important players!

For example, if Marotta offered Perisic a three year contract - what he was seeking - in summer of 2021, he would have received his 3 years and likely stayed.
