How I imagine things went

"We are going to sell you, we need the money for other operations"
"But I love playing for Inter"
"Are you sure? We have offers from Tottenham."
"Nah, I'm good."

--about 1 year later--

"We are going to sell you, we still need the money"
"So after selling Hakimi and Lukaku, you guys still need the money, huh?"
"PSG wants you, at least let your agent talk to them"

Skriniar talked to PSG and saw Inter cannot offer what he feels he deserves, also sees Inter as a failing project. If they keep shopping him around, why wouldn't he feel a certain way?
It was more like:

- We will stop shopping you around, let's get that new contract signed.
- Sure, great. Let's do that.
Next day
- So we decided to sell you and got an offer from PSG, here's their number, you can talk with them
- but...

My man, it`s not the first time you post such semi bullshit.
It is not the NBA, where the players can be transfer even in their sleep. The players have a lot of leverage, more then the clubs.
It could be the most depraved whore in the world. If she says NO, then it`s NO! Otherwise it`s rape, sexual assault or whatever you want to name it.
It is the same with a football player. When he said no, it`s no. Of course the employer could make his life difficult and miserable. But nothing of that happened here. We even gave Skriniar the armband.
Transfers of players is the main business in football. Probably over 95% of players get traded at least once in their lifetime. It is obvious that except maybe for a few clubs, every player is in the market for the right price and the right moment. And this is valid also for us, even for Barella and Bastoni. And all the players know it already.
So spare me with the primadonna feelings that we want to shop him. We would shop every player for the right amount (whatever it may be). But the player need to consent, otherwise is irrelevant.

My problem with Skriniar is his hypocrisy, how he want to be like Hamsik for Inter and so on.
I wouldn`t have a problem if he would have said I want to be a free agent and decide my future alone. That`s absolute ok.
Also I wouldn`t have a pronblem when a player says he want to be transfer to another club for whatever reason. But Skriniar did none of these.

A lot of double standards here.

You're crying that Skriniar lied about wanting to be "our Hamsik" yet you mention how it's 95% standard practice for clubs to transfer players.
So why don't you accept that the club didn't want "a Hamsik"?

And you know what the most pathetic thing is? Even if Skriniar signed a new deal last September, he'd still be the first one on our outgoing list now. But somehow being "the Hamsik" is a one way street....

It was more like:

Marotta: Brehme's was right. I'm Jube rat and I came here to destroy Inter within. That is the reason to bring Conte.
Skriniar: But he won the scudetto with us?!
Marotta: Yes, the things went wrong there. Now,.what about your new contract? Are you ready to pen an extension?
Skriniar: No. I'm a real Interista and cannot work with a jubentino like you anymore. I'll sign with PSG as free agent.
Marotta: Great! Keep it in secret till the last moment. That will hurt a lot Inter finances. My job here is done.

Can you stop having a negative output?

What does this serve? Where did I ever say that Marotta is some prick that wants to hurt Inter? All I said was that he's overrated because the reason Juventus was dominant was FIGC control, their financial muscle and the fact that Serie A was in crisis...

Stop being a child

How much is he overrated? I just see some facts, and the facts are since he came, we finished twice second, won the scudetto, played CL and EL finals, won 2 Coppas and 2 Suoercoppas. All of that in 4 seasons, provided that after the first one Zhang cut the money off. Let's compare to the 4 years before him?

Yes, facts also say that before Marotta we never spent more than -20m in a season apart from the Joao Mario & Gabriel Barbosa debacle season. Which got us penalized in Europe as well...

We increased our salary budget by 75% from 2014 to 2019.
We increased our spending significantly.

Marotta did not come with Fassone or Sabatini budgets.

You want to compare banter Inter with Marotta who came the year after we made CL for the first time in years...not how comparisons work unless you're biased or ignorant. Don't be either please.

If a guy has had so much luck in his career, like everything he's ever achieved can be attributed to luck, then maybe either admit it's not luck or recognize luck is also a kind of competency.

Why do you have to deal in absolutes? Where did anyone say that Marotta's entire career was built on luck?

We spent heavily only in his first season. After that most of the deals were cheap apart from Hakimi. Anyway, he sold Lukaku, Hakimi and Icardi for total of 230mln. How much we got from JM, Kondogbia, Hernandes, Kovacic, Gabigol and some other shits collected throughout the years? Did this big spending have a negative impact on the team? Because, the team is still competitive and keep winning trophies 4 years after that. Fassone and Mirabelli spent 200.mln in Milan. What Milan won because of that? Did their spending had an immediate positive effect for the team?
For me the best transfer strategy have Napoli. They almost always sell expensive and buy cheaper but quality replacements. How many titles they won last 4 years. Did they play CL or EL finals? Coppas? Supercoppas?

Farewell to our best defender. I don't blame him for this bittersweet ending as others do, however from now on I will refer to him as Bbilan Skriniar.

For Inter, the management and the fans, there are lessons to be learnt though. Namely, don't get attached to a player, don't leave things to the last minutes, don't believe in promises and don't overvalue the players.

Football is all about emotions (especially for fans) so it is hard not to get attached to a player.
