COMBI ON NERAZZURRI'S PROGRESS IN RISCONE
Thursday, 22 July 2004 17:30:04
RISCONE DI BRUNICO - "We're working well and with a smile on our faces," said Inter chief of medical staff Franco Combi to the journalists who are following the Nerazzurri during the pre-season retreat in Riscone.
"We haven't had any problems in particular, touch wood. There's an excellent and constructive understanding with Mancini, the technical and training staff. We're all working under no pressure whatsoever and this aspect is fundamental for the psychological tranquillity of the squad."
Christian Vieri and Fabio Cannavaro continue to train separately from the rest of the squad. Professor Combi explained why. "Vieri took a knock to his knee at the European championship so after his holidays he needed to do specific work to strengthen his muscle structure. He's feeling fine now and you can already tell because he's stamping the ground...
"As far as Cannavaro is concerned, we have to deal with that famous tibia fracture which has improved considerably, but with which Fabio has to live with. He needed to do work to prevent muscular injuries so he's ready for when the real preparations start.
"After just one week in retreat, both players are decidedly better, so we're not worried."
I didn´t know where else to post this. So just place it where you want.
