So we will have big options to close next summer in Politano, Barella & Vrsaljko. I personally think thats awesome. If any of these guys play like shite, we can just return them and they know it. If that does not put a fire under their arse all season, nothing will.

Truthfully, we should sign him and leave him at Cagliari for the year. If we do get vidal, it will be tough for him to get enough playing time unless people are injured.

Don't discount the fact that Vecino is probably on his way to Chelsea.

We need another midfielder. And that being Barella, training all year long with Vidal and Nainggolan and also getting his share of minutes, definitely in the Cup and in some league games for sure as we will have some weeks with heavy rotation. There's also that hell of a December month now in our lives.

We need someone who has the characteristics of the others. Barella has the characteristics of all three. So coming in for any one of them is a major plus as we won't change our tactical approach. If Valero comes, he'll have to play as a 10 or as someone in front of the defence with the others having to be around him to protect him. If we play Gagliardini, we're minus one player who can press the ball forward. If we play Emmers, well, too early for that. The only winger we have that can play as MC is Candreva and he won't be really great at it. Then there's Skriniar who can be slotted as a DM if we opt for an ingame change of de Vrij and Miranda at the back. There's also Asamoah, but are we going to trust Dalbert with important playing time? But it's still a very thin roster and we need another CM, regardless of Vidal's arrival.

If Vecino does not leave, of course, Barella will have very limited playing time.

Yeah it requires Vecino to be sold and JM to be loaned (no one will buy him) to make any sense to get Barella. But it would be fantastic, precisely because of Barella's characteristics and how he can learn from these two beasts (given we indeed get Vidal). Also Barella as the player with some passing ability, it would make our bench stronger. Valero is so slow we can't trust him a bit and Gags is good b2b but he's not skilled enough with passes. Same goes for Vecino who's defensive minded but yet not enough passing skills. So I'd definitely sacrifice Vecino for Barella since we still have Gags as the usable DM and Valero giving experience if somehow Spallo sees that as needed in some points of the game.
