Forget physically recuperating from a second ACL injury, it is even tougher to mentally recover from such a blow. He'll be playing at 80% confidence for the rest of his career.
Read on reddit that this is the 20th ACL tear for a Roma player since 2014. Hard to believe this is just bad luck. They are doing something wrong there.
fucking shit, Roma are a fucking disgrace with these ACL injuries, wtf is going on there.
I always feel like something like this is myth but 24 on 6 years is outrageous. Have we even had one in that time? I'm sure we must have but the most recent inter one I can think of off hand is Samuel maybe?
Edit oh viviano apparently did in 2011

Wow, so we got a drunk who won't play and Roma received a cripple that can't play.
The last one I remember is Zanetti. Milito also tore his cruciate in the same season, but I don't remember if it was before or after Pupi

Maybe he was already unintentionally leaning bit too much on the healthier leg only to fuck that one as well?
I assume though that medical treatment available for very rich people is quite different and advanced than what is commonly available.
Nah brother, knees are knees and two ruptures in a year are devastating. Medicine hasn't been able to mend some of the other rich boys in the game. There are also too many cases that beg to differ and not just in this sport. Unfortunately, he also has a very energetic and physical play style so his chances of going back to his outstanding form will be nothing short of a miracle at best. Well, I'd still take him off Roma for a MASSIVE discount if it ever came down to it :troll: and on that note, I wish him all the best in his recovery.
Zanetti came back though like a fucking champ even before the time they thought he would be gone.
Most likely their medical staff is complete trash, including medical facilities, although on a long shot it could be a thing about their training ground and the way its built. Composition, grass, ground itself etc... that makes extra pressure on players knees.
I might be totally wrong here, but to my knowledge ACL has much less to do with that and much more in general with how prone a person is to knee injuries + also a lot of luck (or lack of it) is involved. I’ve seen terrible tackles with knees bending in crazy angles ending with footballers playing it off as if nothing happned, while I myself tore my ACL after a basic aerial duel and I landed just like any other day but still managed to tear my ACL and damage my meniscus. ACL tears can be totally random.
