I already consider this transfer season a failure, and it has just begun. I know it's pure fantasy to have Robben here, but one can dream, and if he comes this miserable nonsense will be over. Still pure fiction...
Going for the most pessimistic member award? :D

The Queens Park Rangers asked about Nigel De Jong of Manchester City. This was revealed by the 'Daily Mirror', whereby the technician Hughes would have expressly required the player for next season.
-translated from interlive.it-

If we really chase after him, then we'll compete with Queens Park Ranger. :eek:blivious:

He is not a bad player, but I saw him several times clueless while he has the ball, moreover he received 7 yellow cards this season. Not a creative midfielder and a harsh player.

more than 8 mills euro, than we just got robbed by City.

Good to see many are optimistic about De Jong - Maicon swap deal. Why would City want to do that? They have one of the best RB in the league whose best days are ahead of him and they have Zabaleta who is very good player. Why would they want to swap their player for the player who has been poor to average for around 2 years. (And also looks like the player whose good days are over)

No it is not about competing with QPR, it is more with Mark Hughes who signed De Jong for the City and who get on well with him.

He is a great player at what he does. As a pure DM there aren't many better. He is bit clumsy at times but he has the heart of the lion, his work rate alone will win him many supporters. He is limited with the ball but no way he is clueless. It is very underrated attribute of his. He plays simple passes as soon as he gets the ball. His duty is to win the ball and pass it to the more creative players which he is excellent at.

Price range I'm not sure as I dont know what offers city will consider, but they signed him for 18 Million pounds so they will try to recoup as much as poosible even if they can't make 18 Million pounds. Not to forget he is just 27, which means he is at his peak.

One thing is sure, team with De Jong will be defensively more solid and will let other players to do the scoring, creating job. You can't get better than him for 12-15 Million when you consider the price range for even average players.

Fuck De Jong. Out of all the players we've been linked with so far, I have no objections to any of them except this stupid cunt.

Our CMF list is more than fine. Guarin/Cambiasso/Obi/Poli/Stankovic/Zanetti is good.

De Jong is just what we need if we are aiming for the 4231 with Lavezzi/Giovinco - Sneijder - Palacio trio behind Milito. With none of these players good at defending, we need a pure DM to guard our defence. Cambiasso's best is behind him and De Jong would do this job to perfection. We don't need him to be creative since those attack minded players ahead of him are good enough.

Of course, all this is assuming we play with such an attack minded 3 of 4231.

Cuchu will be 32 next season. It's not extremely old for a footballer but it's not exactly young either. Especially for a midfielder. And with what looks to be a long season ahead, we need another DM tbh. I'm not sure if De Jong is or will be the answer but there needs to be someone for the future.

He's not coming in to replace Cuchu its been a while since cambiasso played in front of defense. And our midfield lacks strong players, and we need a workhorse in midfield i cant count how many times we were exhausted in midfield and ended up being stretched. So yeah De Jong would be great and hes got a year left on his ctr so now is the best time to make a move.

I wont mind De Jong but prefer to have a pure DPM (Sahin/Strootman...Am I not realistic?)
Getting De Jong would mean we wont get a DPM.......kind of hard to take...

Since we'll be playing with at least two creative forwards we wont need more creativity, we need some strength.

His contract expires next summer.

His wage demands will likely be very high though. He allegedly turned down a £100k a week deal from City, which amounts to over 3M euros post-tax.

The need for a workhorse in midfield is overrated... someone who can get out of a jog will do.

Since we'll be playing with at least two creative forwards we wont need more creativity, we need some strength.
If we can't move the ball well enough those creative forwards won't be as effective.
