Apparently lots of people (Hamed and zzang for example) fail to realise that things in the transfers market do not work the same way as they did 5 or 6 years ago.

There is no more BIG MONEY deals all around now. Chelsea and Real can afford that, but the majority of teams can't. Swaps are very common.

Also, players have huge power in deciding their future. This means that it's not enough to want a player nowadays, you need to be playing in the CL, to have good prospects to attract big names.

Even that is not enough. Take Samuel for example. If he is to leave Real, he could have the choice to join Inter or Juve. Now, Juve won the scudetto, Capello (who Samuel knows very well) is the coach.

Now put yourself into Branca and Facchetti's shoes. Do you think it's easy task to convince Samuel to come to Inter instead? Keep in mind that, while you're trying to do so, in the background all you can hear is your own fans calling you an idiot and a loser.

If we can get Pizarro, fine. But we managed an extremely good transfers campaign (Cannavaro-Carini as the sour exception) last year, and we sealed Veron already.

I don't want us to spend crazy money, I don't want Inter to end up like Parma, Lazio, Fiorentina and Roma. Remember that they use to call these teams, together with Inter, Milan and Juve, the 7 sisters, that were dominating Serie A. They're gone now! Why? Because they're broke! And apart from Milan getting Jankulowski, the other teams didn't do much did they?

As usual, people are getting frustrated even before things actually happen.

You want transfers to happen straight away, well newsflash people: it's not only up to us!!

Milan is struggling their ass off to get parma to agree to sell gilardino to them. So it isn't just inter's management struggling to get the players they want. ;)

Then why is it always us that do badly in the transfer market Frisko? Please tell me. All the teams seal the deals nicely and with less than the hassles that we have.

We can get Samuel if we want. We have to lure him with the only thing we have over Juve, money. He is getting $5M per with Real, do we really expect him to take a pay-cut to join us? We should be escstatic that there is even a possibility that the best CD that suits us is available.

We can't expect him to come for $16M (about $8M less than what Real paid last year) and then pay him $3.5M. We have an easy solution if the wage is the problem, we have to get rid of Vieri and then what he is being paid will cover the difference.

We really shouldn't expect him to take a pay-cut like I said. Why would he? He can still play in Real, and he isn't desperate.

And Frisko, I will tell you which teams got players so far:

Milan: Janku, and Vogel
Juve: Kovac and Giannachida
Roma: Kuffor and Nonda
Barca: Ezquerro and Van Bommel

And many that I can't recall. We should develop the chemistry now, not later on. And thinking that by waiting we are saving money is wrong, time is really money. Develop the chemistry now so you won't lose games and search again next year.

If you're selling a player, you don't just give him away. You WAIT, you stall, you hope someone else will hear about the offer and make you a better one.

That's basic rules, is very naive to think all this is as simple as filling in a cheque.

1) We did VERY WELL with transfers last year.
2) Vogel, Kovac, Kuffour and Giannichedda? Thank God we're smart enough not to get players like that.
3) If you want to spend 20 millions plus big wages for Samuel, and see Inter relegated to Serie B next year, suit yourself, I much rather financial stability than become BInter.

Juve's.Roma's and Barca's were free transfer al lot easier to get deals done when there is no club to negotiate with.

Janku wasn't free, and he was the best of the lot. But they managed to get free players early, how long did it take us to get Davids last year?

I know, and I said so. But Janku WANTED to join Milan for a long time apparently. So they did well to get him, but you talk like every team has bought 10 world class players, while in reality it's only been Van Bommel, Jankulowksi and Del Horno so far. And we got Veron sorted. CHILL!

Hamed, this is for you:

“The deal to bring Samuel and Solari to Inter should be completed on Monday or Tuesday. We are waiting for the Confederations Cup to end, as Samuel is a consummate professional and wants to concentrate on Argentina’s campaign," said Bronzetti, who works as a representative for Madrid.

;)

BTW Hamed, I guess you are also forgetting that we are Inter and the other problem we are facing is that our squad is just too big. So before they bring new players, we also have to sell COZ we really dun wanna see a squad of 35 players next season. ;)

Davids, Emre, V.Meyde, Materazzi and co. all seems to be heading out of San Siro; so it wun be easy for us in the transfer market compared to that of Juventus.

And to make you happy, just see how long it's taking Juventus and Milan to get Cassano and Gilardino respectively. And on top of that, it also seems that we have already got our man - Samuel. :)

Yeah, I also have not forgotten Nesta & Chivu saga. Still.... ;)

And now, coming back to the main topic of this thread : VERON; c'mmon Inter sign PIZARRO as well. :star:

I am cool now  and I don't think I overreacted. Maybe it's because I used to check all the sites everday waiting to read "Inter net Samuel" because they all say he is close to us, and then they say the deal is complicated.

I am always afraid of Deja-Vu's, because history tends to repeat itself with us. I just wanted to enjoy a nice post season where we get players early, and then we train all the lads together to develop chemistry.

I know, I think too many Inter fans go check out stupid rumours sites far too often, and then can't help but having all that shit into their heads, and that clouds their judgements.

I only believe what I read on Gazzetta.it and Inter.it

I check sites like Yahoo.Sports, Sportal.it, Calciomercato.com, but I never believe what I read there, I just wanna know what stories are around.

Moratti is very financially intelligent these days, he's not as free-spending as before. I don't think it's nice to criticise him these days, he made mistakes in the past (25 mill for Vampeta are u f-cking crazy) but these days he evaluates situations down to the minute details, so don't worry about inter's financial situation!

The only bright thing of the Vampeta transfer is that we ended up getting Adriano in the deal to ship his ass to Brazil.

And Vampeta was recommended by none other Ronaldo :thumbsdo:

The Veron deal is a good for Inter, Inter are not in a place to spend more than 10 mill on a player, or sign any players until the squad doesn't look like it has as many players as a NFL team.
I dont understand the anger, Milan and Juventus signed players knowing who was leaving for sure (Brocchi, Legoratagglie, Ferrara etc) we don't even know for certain if our best player is staying or not.
I also think that Pizzaro hasn't heard the last from Inter.

If we do get Pizarro after this. :fero:

Juan Sebastian Veron is going to be the CM for two more years, and as tempting as it is to go after a young playmaker, we're getting him on loan for two seasons, free of cost (somewhat, of course). ;)

The transfer market is being played well by Moratti and co, I am satisfied.

First of all, i´m happy Veron re-signed with us...

...but I´m just curious what happens when he´s injured...and he´ll be injured, believe in me. My prediction is that he´ll be unavailable 1/3 per season. We have none to replace him ´cause i doubt Pizarro wants to come here anymore and be his replacement and it could take a lot of time for a player like Stankovic [for example] to adapt back to that position. Of course we can always use Cambiasso-Cristiano [if he stays? I doubt he will] duo, but that would change our game play completely.

All in all, i´m somewhat happy that Veron stays, but i doubt he´ll stay two more seasons. One season and he is out. Then there´s no Pizarro anymore. Oh well...

Well Veron is good ... and the deal we got is good one ... this gives us more time to look for talent who can replace Veron in the future.
Looking at the bright side, we don't have to pay the wages of a quality midfielder for two years ... which can be a big amount ... so for the time being we can scout younger players who have the potential to become the next veron ... who can take on from veron when hew leaves ... someone who is like 22-24 and argentine ;)

Exactly Tommi. Let's just hope that Pizarro is a patient person who is willing to wait for another year to be a starter for Inter. After all, after seeing Roma's abysmal season in 04/05, I think Inter somewhat have the advantage in netting Pizzaro, despite the fact that Spaletti is Roma's new coach. Also, considering Roma's huge financial difficulties, I think we can offer a better contract for Pizzaro. :)
