Nagatomo as a right back is a recipe for disaster and I'm not talking about the coverage Guarin will provide or how Palermo's strength comes from Lazaar on that side.

Yuto's worst games came from playing at the right if the Cagliari and Udinese disasters taught us anything.

IMO if you are looking for attacking FBs, Nagatomo is a better option than D'Ambro or Montoya. Starting both Telles and Nagatomo means Mancio wants an attacking team specially from the wing. I would have preferred a more defensively solid Santon, but I guess if Mancini wants to attack, this makes sense.

I wish it was Brozovic instead of Guarin though.

But why would you play D'Ambrosio over Santon, there isn't one thing D'Ambrosio is better than Santon, Nagatomo at least offers different qualities. Also seeing how both Nagatomo and Telles are playing over Santon and Juan Jesus, probably Mancini thinks our defense is solid enough that we can play more offensive FBs.

And TBH with the squad we have that's almost my ideal formation, but with Ljajić instead of Guarín as AM/SS/WF and anyone instead of useless Perišić. Something like this:

Kondogbia - Medel

Telles - Murillo - Miranda - Nagatomo
