ADRossi should expect Stramaccioni in the hotline.

Its impossible, but I wouldn't mind a De Rossi...

Re Paulinho, I don't know whether its him we are after, but I have a feeling that Inter are on verge of a big purchase for the midfield. All the quotes by Strama allude to that. Coutinho is being sacrificed to get someone who can improve the team immediately. Can't wait to see who it is... perhaps it is Paulinho, perhaps not... but we will buy a quality midfielder now.

It would be huge epic either in case Paulinho saga turns out to be success or failure tbh

From my perspective, had the management done preparation properly at pre-season, we could have had much better situation, like selling Sneijder and getting Paulinho at much better price, also we may have possibly been able to keep Coutinho. But, because it's quite irrelevant to whine about the mistake that has already happened, I think it's better for us to discuss what we'll do onward. I'm trying to gather information about this guy, seems like there are many positive comments about him. Is there anyone here following Brazilian league regularly that is able to provide objective overviews about him?

It would be one of the greatest failures in footballing history if Paulinho ended up rejecting us (again) or mire likely, Corinthians demand some impossible, extortionate price for him, and therefore we didn't get him.

This.

And if we don't get Paulinho is it going to be a bunch of low cost rotation players? Lodi, Valdes, Gago, Biglia or whatever other players we are linked to will hardly make up for the sales of Sneijder and Cou.

I'm not that positive about getting a player like Paulinho.... but if we'll end up with him I'd be open to change my opinion for the good of Inter of course.
Someone suggested that making a tandem like Guarin & Paulinho would be like the answer to Vidal & Marchisio,I hope that it could work well but I still rather having a real playmaker... and as I said in midfielders thread,I would love a player like Benat Extebarria.

i was under the impression that Paulinho was more of a Gaurin like player than one like Cou and Wes

nothing will make up for the sales of Wes and Cou if we buy hyped overpriced CM's leaving us with basically no creativity

shows us the type of football we can expect for the rest of the season and i really doubt we'll get CL

I'm sure Moratti would relieve Branca off his duties if he fails on this "Blitz" having sacrificed both Sneijder + Coutinho.

Wouldn't it have made sense to have agreed terms with Paulinho and Corinthians BEFORE selling Coutinho. Like surely our club CANNOT be run as badly as it seems. Surely if we're really going to be selling Coutinho it's because our signing of Paulinho is basically a foregone conclusion?

Because they are not like to like players, Paulinho is not coming to replace Coutinho. They are separate deals connected only by the fact that Coutinho's sale could fund the Paulinho transfer. My guess is that if we had already bought a decent midfielder (and hence did not need to buy Paulinho), we still would have found it very hard to resist a good offer like 13m for Coutinho, all profit, because that goes a long way in our status with the FFP criteria.

I will soon write an article on Inter's current financial situation with regards to FFP, even after all those wage cuts... it will make this more clear.
