We are a week or two behind Chelsea in preseason I think. Premier League starts week before Serie A and Chelsea also have Community Shield next weekend.

So how has Emmers been in the preseason? Is he worth a spot in the first team?

Better than Gagliardini, so I would make him some space in our team. Could be useful when we need some fresh blood/energy in midfield, he is a good ball player and looked well matured beyond his years.

Absolutely not. Geez. Gags hate is crazy. You put brozo with a clown midfield. Vecino with a clown midfield. 9 with a clown midfield. And ask them to be total protagonist. Be DM to bring the ball out, CM to connect with wings and forwards, and AM to finish off plays while the other clown midfielders just play passive.

What do you think you'll get? Flawless play? You'll get mistakes. You'll get bad passes. Bad touches. And btw, it looks like Gags has played full 90 in all pre-season so far. Think about that please...

I hope Gags can get some rest soon since once he's rested, he's already PROVEN with us he can be quite formidable in the CM/DM role.

Come on man...Emmers? Fucking A..FiF....

He's okay for 2 Coppa games a season and an occassional 88th minute sub. Still too early for him to be part of the team.

I was just about to agree with you completely, but that small notice about Emmers ruined... Why don't you give that discount you gave to Gaglia to Emmers too? In yesterday's game he was as bad as whole team was. I know Gaglia will show his real strength when combined with Brozo, but Emmers was really really good in previous preaseason games. Those quick switches from recovering the ball to building attack was joy to watch. I would rate Emmers as my first choice after the starting duo of Brozo-Gaglia.

Moi! Minäkin kirjoitan suomesta (mutta olen Italialainen).

Emmers is a prodigy but at the moment lacks among all things a fixed position in the pitch. He's an all-around midfielder, but without a specific role.

The pros are an amazing pace and in general a very intense approach. He clearly is ready for pro football, although probably not at Inter levels. Given the lack of players in midifield, he'll most likely stay one year to get experience even just in training.

My opinion regarding Gagliardini has nothing to do with this pre season. He could be a good player for a lower team like Atalanta, Torino, ect, but as for Inter he will never be good enough. He is very limited and has been performing like shit, big time though.

How come Gagliardini is proven? He has proved nothing. And I don't really hate him, its just I think that he's not good enough for Inter. He had some very good games in the beginning of his adventure here and at first I thought he is such a great addition but I was wrong big time. As for Emmers he looks well matured beyond his years, and understands football unlike Gagliardini who lacks brains.

I hope Emmers does not end up rotting in our bench, just like Gnokouri or Pinamonti, in a season when he is supposed to have a breakthrough. I just don't see Spalletti giving him enough chance to play unless our midfield is severely depleted. It would be great if he can play semi-regularly in a lower-class Serie A team, but knowing our fate with loaning out youngster, that option does not seem promising either. So far he's been rather solid, showed good technique on the ball, and playing with intensity that very much convinced me he is ready for Serie A football.

Looking at DAmbrossio play yesterday, make me so upset we didnt sign Cancelo when we have a chance.
I know we have to move on, life goes on.

I dont know about Vrsaljko, I hope he could be an upgrade for Dumbo. I just cant stand his playing style.

I have no doubt he will get his time on the pitch, just don't expect him to play massive minutes. We have three competitions this season and at present we have 5 senior players vying for 3 places on the pitch (not counting Mario) and if someone else is signed, someone will also be sold. We're going to encounter injuries, suspensions and fatigue at some point and that's where we will see the likes of Emmers get their chance.

Emmers definitely will get registered to CL due to his club trained status. And with our limited midfield option he definitely will have playing time there.

Gag was phenomenal when he was paired with Kdog. Right now as we dont have a natural DM, Gag has to limit his attacking role and cover wider area. He deserves more at least from fans.

Gagliardini was great when paired with Brozovic last season as well. He's only really been bad when playing with Vecino/Borja besides him. Vecino is too similar and Borja cannot run.

Gags is totally a servicable player for Inter, he has the most unglamourous job (and doesn't have the physique to be a destroyer like Kante)

THE NEWCOMERS ADVANCE FORWARD

  • From Lautaro to Asamoah, the transfer market is a guarantee of Inter.
  • The new signings are working: the number 10 is the best, De Vrij is starting to turn things around and when Nainggolan is available…
The new signings have already been integrated in this Inter team faster than expected. Lautaro Martinez, Asamoah, Politano and De Vrij have conquered the Nerazzurri. On Saturday night, in Nice, we saw new steps forward (especially in the second half) and so far in this preseason, the new arrivals of Inter have given Spalletti more answers than questions.

The front page of this summer is Lautaro Martinez, the only one that lacks European experience but he has adapted very well and is already at ease with the Inter shirt. Against Chelsea, it was expected that he would play with Icardi from the start but the two only spent time together for the first 20 minutes of second half.*

No problem, the strength of Il Toro was seen anyway: as a trequartista behind Mauro (with whom, understanding between the two is natural) or as a central forward in solitary, he always knows what to do. In Nice, Lautaro again confirmed that his other positive performances this preseason are no fluke. The Argentinian number 10 was just a finger tip away (of goalkeeper Caballero on the 91st minute) from scoring his third goal of the summer.

The former Racing club crawls and growls at the opponents, makes the right movements, defends the ball, and is so natural in front of the goal. And as Luciano Spalletti said at the end of the game, Latuaro also made*sacrifices for the team, especially his phenomenal work to "turn off the lights" on Jorginho. So much talent, in short. Also as revealed by the Inter coach, the almost-21-year-old “is a tough kid who does not go around problems, he faces them head on.”

GHANAIAN -*One that solves problems is Kwadwo Asamoah, or rather his experience. The 29-year-old from Ghana, who in recent years had become a reserve of luxury at Juventus for coach Max Allegri, is everywhere on the field for Inter to give strength using his muscles, to give substance using his ability and versatility, to give relentlessness by using his lungs. Spalletti really wanted him and so far after five games, Asamoah has always proven that his coach is right: as a left back or as a midfielder to shield the defense, he is a guarantee, a safe that will not betray Inter. And when the ball is between his feet, as Spalletti said, “he does not get burned.”

WINGER -**Matteo Politano returned to action in Nice after taking one game off due to muscle fatigue and so far, he has been more interesting out wide rather than as a trequartista. Inter need the change of pace of the 24-year-old Roman, as well as his ability to enter the defenses and surprise them. For however many minutes that he was behind Icardi, Politano was a bit awkward and “rehearsed,” much better on the right wing where he has speed and can support the Inter attack that way. Last season at Sassuolo, Politano was very dangerous. There was a chance for him to score against Sarri but he badly wasted that opportunity. Luciano Spalletti is waiting for his goals because they will not only be important but essential for Inter in the Champions League.

DUTCH AND RADJA - Stefan De Vrij has also taken a nice step forward. the muscles of the 26-year-old are starting to be useful and for him, every minute spent together with Milan Skriniar in the defense is needed for them to build chemistry as well as to refine movements, to know the secrets of each other. And then there is always Radja Nainggolan, who has only played 100 minutes so far this preseason. The former Roma midfielder joined the team for the game in Nice and is recovering after injury suffered at Sion. He still has a large tape on his right thigh and it is almost impossible to return on Saturday in Lecce against Lyon, more likely on August 11 versus Atletico Madrid. That will only be a week before the start of the season. Spalletti needs him and cannot wait to have him back in the starting lineup.

De Vrij looks solid defensively but sloppy on the ball so far. Would argue it's a team chemistry issue and the lack of a proper playmaker in front of the defence. This will be fixed with Brozovic and any other newcomer in that role.
