The ref clearly from the first minute to the last never had any control over the game and the players. One thing I find really interesting and funny is that, looking at Gazzetta Dello Sport comments (although not only there) from articles for the Spain v Germany game, many people are like "Wow clear PK, this ref sucks!" and similar such comments. Yesterday's game may have compounded the negative association many people have between Spain and UEFA/FIFA protection for clubs and country (Which I believe is a thing, Real Vardrid isn't just a meme imo.)
Funny though, because since I lurk on those forums and have done so for years, when this same ref screwed over Roma it was ok. No one talked about it. It was "haha mourinho lost and by extension so did sfinter because reasons..." Their hatred for Mourninho/Inter blinded them to this same ref messing up what could have been a Roma win imo. Sevilla did not deserve it that year imo. Inter also got screwed by Sevilla handball which wasn't called (I don't think it wa the same ref though). Now these same people are like "Oh wow spain cheats Germay deserved a goal at the end." If I'm not mistaken wasn't there an offside or offensive handball leading up to the goal so that's why no pk was called for? Whereas in Roma v Sevilla clear handball, same ref doesn't even VAR check and these same people crying now are like "Wow this ref sucks." but 2 years ago it was "lol stop crying crybabies". What changed rube/bilan/atalanta fans?
No rube/bilan/atalanta fans. You guys and your teams suck.
