I foresee two problems. One, it would encourage spamming to increase post counts, something I don't really see too much of here. It could also be discouraging to new members who have a valid idea for a thread.

The positives that you listed might outweigh the negatives, though.

I like the idea but instead of posts I would prefer a time period. Say you can only open threads after a month. Not sure it can be done thought.

That's cool* I guess it would encourage spamming. But I think if the number of posts you'd need isn't much, it wouldn't be a significant problem. Also, they could be warned before hand while reading the guidelines. The time length idea would be just perfect - why can't it work?

It's not like this is a serious issue though, but it's kind of annoying when you see how orderly some sections are and then you scroll down to see a thread out of nowhere starting with something like "Robinho to Inter FTW" !! IT'S IRKSOME!

As far as I know you can only get notifications of threads and sections you subscribe to not individual posts.

You can get a notification for individual posts also.

there is one macedonian forum that allows that... When someone quotes your post, and replies, there is notification that someone has repied directly to your post

admins i have a thread idea but not sure if it shall be opened. i was thinking about a thread where users can sell items,, for example i have some things like dvd clothing etc that i want to sell and i would normally go to ebay but it would be cool if we could do that here ?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I was wondering if you can make it an option to delete your own posts, because I just double posted (and with my connection it is probably sure to happen again) and I would rather be able to delete them than to say "Edit: sorry, double post".

I understand if you have reasons for not letting us do that (so trolls and spammers can't delete the evidence against them I guess?) but was wondering if it could be done, if not it's just a minor annoyance and I can deal with it.

The old theme wouldn't suit to the new version of vBulletin, so since we upgraded to vBulletin 4.0 we had to change the theme, but soon we will release the newest theme for FI Forums so Ehsan is working on it.
