I had read somewhere that Rafinha's clause will be triggered if we make a top 4 spot. And it's going to be 38m. But that didn't catch on with every source out there so it might have been wrong.

As for the Barca forum comment, I've seen posts that laughed at the fact that they're getting almost 40m for him. We should also be disappointed at that figure.
Anything over 25m is overpaying. And I don't care if we also overpaid for Vecino and Dalbert.

35m is probably overpaying for him, specially because of his injury history. So I don't disagree with you.

I still believe Inter should buy him even if he costs €35m, mainly because we are shit at buying attack minded midfielders. Rafinha has already integrated with the team, we know what he can do, so the risk of lower than buying a new player. Of course we should negotiate with Barca, if not to lower the fee then to extend the loan with an obligation. But end of the day, we should end the summer with Rafinha in our squad because that is the smart thing to do.

Barça laughing all the way to the bank, they got their Eto'o money back.

also, ask yourself this : is Rafinha better than our competition's player ? (in the same position)

Better than SMS ? nope !
Better than Hamsik ? nope !
Better than Diego Costa ? nope !

so what the fuck are we doing signing him with a huge sum of money ? this has failure written allover it. stop thinking with upper mid-table team mentality, to win the scudetto your players must be better than your competition.

SMS will probably go for 80-90m, so that argument is moot. I don't think anyone at this forum will mind if Inter decide to not buy Rafinha and get SMS instead.

Douglas Costa's buyout clause was set at 40m last summer and his price has considerably gone up by now. So again we are comparing Rafinha with someone worth a whole lot more.

I guess what I am getting at is Rafinha is worth €35m for Inter, unless we have more money to spend to get someone much better.

i'm not suggesting we get SMS or Costa, just saying the player we have must be in the same or better tier than our competition.
when i see Rafinha i don't think that he is in the same level of our competition, and he is too expensive to be a rotation player.

i would rather pay 15m for Pastore instead of him for example. he can arguably put up a fight if you compare him with the players above. and if we play with wingers then there are a lot of other players to choose from.
Ausilio went full retard with Barça if he signed an obligation.

Love how people seem to be advocating trying to negotiate his and cancelo's fees. Thats not how agreements and contracts work

This is football, it's rare to have someone respect a contract.

Rafa has only played 6 months , and he is only going to get better with time (minus the injury scares)
For our budget he is a great candidate or dare to name who else would fit the bill for the same budget

I think we can loan him again. Best solution since we don't have to pay his price right now which also won't mean as much to us one year later.

Is there an obligation to buy clause in Rafinha’s contract in case of a Champions League qualification? Yes, but only verbally.

This is according to Mundo Deportivo on the condition in the agreement between Inter and Barcelona last January in case of a CL qualification but it is only verbal and not in writing.

What certain is that the player wants to stay at Inter and has already told his club that through agent and father Mazinho. Inter wanted to get an extension on Rafinha’s loan and for this reason, Piero Ausilio has scheduled a meeting with Oscar Gray and Pep Segura, general director and general manager of Barcelona, to talk about the situation. :datass:

Unlike Valencia, I think Barcelona would be happy to ship him away as soon as possible. I think this will go through.

If we don't make him an Inter player this summer, then don't even bother with CL.

Except if we are getting a certain Hazard or Kroos or any player like that, buy Rafinha.

I don't mean to support the idea of not redeeming Rafinha, but Banega was better for us and costed us nothing.
I like Banega actually, was pleased when we signed him, he's definitely more solid on the ball and has more range in his passing for sure, but he lacks consistency. Not sure how you think he was better for us. Goals and assists? 9 times out of 10 we can expect Rafinha to deliver close to his full capacity. That alone is worth 35mil to me. Would love to have both players at Inter though.

i'm not suggesting we get SMS or Costa, just saying the player we have must be in the same or better tier than our competition.
We can't afford that though so why are we discussing? In anycase SMS is an attacking mid and Costa is a wide player. Rafinha is more an iniesta, his job is to keep the team balanced.

i would rather pay 15m for Pastore instead of him for example.
Too inconsistent to be a starter.

A lot of you are overlooking what makes Rafinha a great buy... his decision making and build up play. He has brought some semblance of order to our very chaotic midfield, holding onto the ball or passing at the right moments, creating space for others with his movement, making himself available for passes, playing intelligently, making few mistakes... He's literally our "brain" in midfield. He might not be Einstein, but we won't get better, not for 35M. Smart and hardworking player.

Barca warn Inter over Rafinha
By Football Italia staff

Barcelona director Ariedo Braida has warned Inter that they could miss out on Rafinha. “Other clubs are interested in him.”

Rafinha joined Inter on a six-month loan from Barcelona in January and helped the Nerazzurri qualify for the Champions League, but the arrangement does not include the option of a permanent transfer.

“It’s possible that he’ll stay at Inter, but nothing’s been decided yet. Other teams are interested in him,” Milan’s former general manager told Gr Parlamento.

“Rafinha’s a wonderful lad and player with very good technical skills. I think it could be useful for Inter.

“He’s managed to overcome a long spell out and he’s now ready for next season. It takes time for a deal to be struck.

“The prices of players are high and the market has changed after the Neymar affair. Rafinha is a players who knows how to do interesting thing.”

Wasn't great yesterday because he seemed not be fully fit and kudos to lazio for marking him so efficiently, it really hampered his ability to get the ball forward.

We have more chances negotiation with Barca than with Valencia for Cancelo tbh. Barca probably will accepted two year long loan with 35mil obligation to buy at the end since they are not tight on budget like Valencia with FFP.

fuck off cunts now that we make it to champions league, we dont need him anymore, we should get better player, fck off Rafinha is more of an interesta now than any of us in this forum we are lucky to have quality player who showed great sense of belonging and care for the team . You have a guy who actually dont shitt his pants has great strong personality and is actually very good player stop crying like sissies and dont get cocky, rafinha is exactly what we need. Auslio must work on lowring his fee and thats about it . he should be signed and given his proper chance full season he earned it.
