Haha yeah is Sabatini basically negotiating with himself and checking for the green to buy and sell Ramires. Surely this should not take this long

This transfer does more or less nothing for us; I guess it provides free depth. Ramires doesn't possess any characteristics this team lacks. It's not like he's a regista who is going to come in and help us build through the midfield. I'm hoping this move frees us up to offer a loan swap of Mario for a more attack minded player

Yeah. How Ramires helps us when we need that extra bit of flair to break the deadlock and find that goal when the opponent is defending organized and well?

It will help you against udinese who's about to score 3 goals, we need this guy as he's very strong and he will give you some stability. Wait and see what the player brings to the table before you criticise him. No one didnt see him play in the last year, but blablabla

erm....mmmm...i dunno...maybe he knows how to fucking score...you know our mf's lack that trait...except Brozo, but Brozo is an inconsistent mofo who didn't develop a whole lot
also can dictate the tempo in mf...holds his position well...well this was him in Chelsea,I don't watch Chinese league, but his stats there are quite fucking good too...I know the league probably sucks...but if Paulinho was there and he went to Barca...Ramires>>>Paulinho if you ask me

people facepalmed about valero and vecino too.............

Your point being? People wanted a leap in quality for our midfield. Neither one of them has given us that. Not saying they're bad players, but they've not really taking us to any new level. In my mind the only real difference in our position this season and last is Skriniar and without him we'd be where we were last season.

I'm happy with this deal if it happens, his work rate is equal to 2 players in midfield. Would be nice if we signed some creative players too but I doubt it'll happen.

Don't we have like five Ramires already?

It certainly was at Chelsea, but we don't know how 2 years at the shite Chinese league have changed him. He is 30 now, and that age for Brazilians spells danger. They usually let themselves go a bit. And his wages are a real killer, I hope we are getting him to reduce them and not making him our highest paid player. Ramires probably wants to play for us as he still has slim hopes of making Brazil's WC squad.

One positive thing is that since he is coming from an internal company, Sabatini is well aware of how good or bad Ramires is now. If he still plays like the Ramires of Chelsea, he will be an upgrade on Gags and even Vecino. We need that.

But our most important transfer here is Rafinha. If we get him and he plays like the Rafinha of last season, that could transform our team.

LMAO our all new midfield has not made a major contribution to us being 3rd and in title/top 4 race?

the two V's are a HUGE factor in how well our season has been this year

as for ramiries he was brilliant at chelsea, if we can get him and rafinha it will go a long way to cemening our CL spot next year imo as we will have a strong squad and number 10 in rafinha

Ramires is a box-to-box midfielder just like Brozovic, Vecino and Gagliardini.

If anything, this deal proves that the above mentioned players aren't the players we thought they would become and weren't successful signings.

Brozovic might be considered successful since his value has risen since he joined us but the other two, if we were to sell them today we would be selling them for a loss.

But as Shaun pointed out, non of the three have given us that leap in quality.

I don`t have any problem in Ramires joining us on a free loan. Spalletti approved his transfer, Ramires wants to come and has motivation, so this might just turn out greatly for us. At least he acts like a pro, unlike others here (JM, Brozo). We need squad depth & COMPETITION for a starter`s position, and that`s exactly what Luciano is trying to create.

i would say the opposite. vecino has been brillaint for our team imo and is a real box to box player

gagliardini has regressed in an attacking sense but imrpoved defensivly

and brozovic is way to lazy to be called a B2B player imo and is not successful in anyway really.

We need a man to win Scudetto, not a bunch of kids.

I tired see Brozovic, Gagliardini, and Joao Mario.

Bring in Valero, with Ramires, and maybe Vidal or Nainggolan next year.

So we can win Scudetto.

You can look Real Madrid, or Barcelona.

Modric, Kroos, and Casemiro.. they kick James, they don't need kids, they need a man. Casemiro>>>James.

Barca buy Paulinho, because he is a man, not kids anymore.

Kid from your profile picture is in top 3 CB's of Serie A currently. We need QUALITY, age is kinda less important (even tho more experienced players are a bit more desirable), but we are not in position to choose a lot if you look at budget.

You're arguing about Ramires in vain. It seems Suning blocked his move to Inter. According to PPTV network, which is owned by Suning, he's going to stay at Jiangsu.

Ever since Suning bought us in 2016 we have been linked to this guy simply because he plays for the other club Suning own. This January it is no different. However i feel like this is a "convenient" rumour for the media to play with and the club allows the media to play with this in order to appease the fans appetite. But in reality its a bullshit rumour and this guy is not joining us.If Suning wanted this guy at Inter he would have been here in the summer of 2016.

The "Sabatini negotiating with himself" joke is getting old... but not that old yet.

dragging this whole situation for so long is way beyond ridiculous. it's either yes or no, if it's not possible we'll move on.
