Boring game. Conclusions:

1) Cruz shouldn't start.
2) Adriano is getting fatter, I am baffled by that honestly.
3) Figo is still good.

this made me laugh.

anway, who were our best players?

we just dont have a player who can change things in a moment.

Utterly boring game which happens every now and then against Reggina. I remember we played 'em a few seasons ago in Calabria and it was just as uneventful as this one. Oh well, can't win them all, especially since we were missing Ibra, Deki and Maxwell and the Scudetto practically secured.

It might had been a lousy and boring game but no big deal. It happens sometimes and Reggina have had a great season and we weren't with our best starting line up, even though they were also missing two starters.

Anywaz, with this draw, it will be a bit more difficult to get to the 100 points now. :D

Anywaz, tough games coming up now - Palermo, Roma

Ibra is your man.

Get him in a team where Vieira, Stan and Cuchu are all behind him holding all that posession and I garuntee you things will start to click again.

Sure a player behind the striker will be good too, but when you miss so many players its not easy.

Under the circumstances I think we've done extremley well this season.

I think the question that has to be asked is what is the quality of our squad really like when starters such as Materazzi, Stankovic, Ibrahimovic and Vieira are missing and the team fails to click?

Should it not it be the case that whoever replaces these players will help get the job done? I believe the answer to above question can be partially answered when by looking at our Champions League elimination

In my opinion, Figo started to show his age during this match. He can no longer last a full 90 minutes and I believe we should not be too upset about his departure, although it has to be said that we do not have an obvious and quality successor.

I thought Cesar should have been Man-of-the-Match. And with regards to Grosso, I get the feeling that he believes winning the World Cup is all he had to do to become a successful footballer.

Puma, i agree with you are on figo incapability to last the whoe game with the same energy. But honestly, very few people actually can. For when he's having a good game, the 70mins we get of him are great in my opinion. you gotta be realistic about him. There is no need for him to stay, i hope moratti and mancini are smarter than that.

Grosso was only bought by inter because he won the world cup, he's italian and they werent sure if maxwell was ever going to get over his injry worries. I havent much of Grosso before that, so people who have, fill me in.

Regarding our CL elimination, not only did we miss cambiasso and vieira, but we also had to play a central defender in the whole mess. We paid the cost of playing our regular formation instead working around the formation. It was half way through a tiring season and things are slow. The players backing up the " main players" IMO are perfect. A quick attacking midfielder and an Edmilson type of verstaile and we are good.

I think we had pretty much signed him before he left for Germany. It was only made official after the WC. We got him at a very low price, which in hindsight seems too much for a crappy season:p

I've roughly gone through the posts and what I can I say is that everytime we draw game people start complaining about some of the players. For example, after this game people are hitting at Figo although he was named man of the match by Sky Italia.

I'm not saying that I'm big Figo fan, but we mustn't forget that he provided us with 12 assists in all competitions this season which makes him our assist master. Yet people hit at him everytime we don't win when he plays. Having said that, I'm totally with Figo decision to leave the team at the end of the season since he's going to leave on a high.

That is not true... although it was not official yet everyone knew he would join us after the WC regardless of how well Italy does. Also now having quickly checked our news database I did find that Branca mentioned that Grosso's contract was in fact registered on the 29th of June ;)
I myself had high hopes about the lad, being Italian and all + the fact that I had seen some impressive games from him in his Palermo days. So I really wanted him to do well... but he hasnt really won me over!
So IMO and from what I've seen from both him and Maxwell the latter should be our 1st choice.

Grosso's move was indeed secured prior to the World Cup et al. It's just that the news was only disseminated to public after he returned from Germany.

Make no mistake, the Grosso at Palermo was a very good player. As a matter of fact, he already made his name right when he was with Perugia in 02/03. At the summer of 03, he made a surprise move by joining Palermo, who was still in Serie B at that time. That was a very ambitious Palermo side though, and no one was surprised that Palermo is going to be challenging for European spot right after their promotion.

But this Grosso that we're seeing in Inter...I honestly think that even Wome is better than him. At least Wome has a couple of extremely good games with us (Remember the Inter 1-0 Sampdoria match when he was possessed by Zambrotta, Maldini, R.Carlos etc?) but I can hardly remember any from Grosso.

Ibra is not my man hal because he hasn't even scored a goal in the Champions League for the last 2 seasons.

that is the pinnacle of club football and he has not performed.

Yes and in Serie A, defenders just lie down and let you score. Its easy and his 15 goals plus numerous assists and great performances are all of no use.

I cant believe you mentioned that player's name in the same breath as Grosso. Grosso may not have played very well for us but that other player was horrendously bad no matter how well he played in one game. The fact that Grosso has three goals on the season is enough to surpass anything that good for nothing bum did for us.

Wally, at least Wome always gave his all when playing for us. Even though he ran like a headless chicken, not knowing what to do, he never took his starting spot for granted.

Whereas, everytime I see Grosso on the pitch, his attitude was as if he expects to be given a starting spot because he won Italy the World Cup. He hardly goes in hard on anybody and just shows too much complacency.

Well, anyways, those things are beside the point and the most relevant and unarguable point right now is that Maxwell should get the nod ahead of Grosso, all the time.

Grosso at Palermo was better than Grosso at Inter so far, but Grosso at Palermo wasn't as good as some here try to show him.

In his best day, he isn't as good as a slumping Roberto Carlos.
