They get knocked out of UCL and what do they want? A coach that has never been good at UCL.

I'm honestly quite bored with Mancini.

Ok, lets fire him then. Just so that FIF can have another scapegoat next season. :work:

I have always maintained that Mancini should be judged at the end of this season, and that its silly to say things like "if we don't make top 3, then sack the coach". You have to look at the larger picture and decide whats the best for the club. Now that we are at the end of the season, I don't think Mancini has been successful (unless we miraculously make the Top 3 in the next 5 games, which is very unlikely). But I think he has done enough for us to consider keeping him for another season, based on the following factors:

1. Mentality: We have improved - managed to get out of our usual winter crisis, and are playing much better football than we have for a long while. For me, that is a good indication of improvement in the mentality of the players, and the coach gets a lot of credit for that.

2. Attract Talent: Mancini can attract quality players who otherwise wouldn't join a non-CL club, which is key specially since we are largely looking at out-of-contract players who are in high demand.

3. Squad Suitability: This squad is made for Mancini, perhaps he just needs a few tweaks to complete it. In other words, for the group of players we have, there are few better managers. This is important because we have little money to transform the squad.

4. Club Stability: We got ourselves a completely new team this season, and only recently have we seen some indication of a regular starting XI. Players are finally understanding their roles and tactics, and the performances are starting to tell. There needs to be a very compelling reason for us to consider changing the coach and start from zero again.

5. Cost: Firing Mancini will be very costly. Not just settling his contract and the coaching staff's contracts, but a new coach will require a lot of squad changes - a lot of money that we can ill afford.

The above does not mean that we shouldn't fire Mancini this summer under any circumstances. For example if a much better coach is available and interested, then we could consider it. Or if we get a lot of money for Mancini from PSG for example. Or a combination of both. But apart from such extraordinary circumstances, I think it makes sense to give Mancini another season based on the above.

For some people here who want Mancini sacked this summer for a rookie like Di Francesco or someone, they need to get their head checked. That's cuckoo crazy.

Mancini: 'Totti fight overblown'
By Football Italia staff

Inter Coach Roberto Mancini spoke all-round on the Totti-Spalletti fight, the next Italy Coach, and Inter's transfer campaign.

The 51-year-old was invited to a TV show in which he was interviewed about a variety of disparate topics, including the recent disagreement between Roma Coach Luciano Spalletti and captain Francesco Totti, Cristian Brocchi's new Milan, and the succession of Antonio Conte on the Italy bench.

“There may have been some disagreements in my career but as a player and as a Coach I always showed the utmost respect,” he told La Domenica Sportiva. “I don't know what happened between Totti and Spalletti. These are locker-room incidents and people often exaggerate. No, there wasn't anything serious between me and [Dani] Osvaldo.

“Brocchi? I don't know him, so I can't judge him. He's a young lad and he'll be very driven. I wish him the best of luck for a job that isn't among the easiest.

“The next Italy Coach? In terms of experience, the best candidate is [Giovanni] Trapattoni. People say he's already been there, but then, so has [Bologna's Roberto] Donadoni.”

Mancini then went on to discuss Inter, and their strategy on the transfer market.

“If the President said he's not selling the top players, then he knows best. I told journalists we have a rich budget just to get them to stop asking me questions. We already know what the situation is like, we must be cautious and do our best to find the right players.

“Thohir and [former President Massimo] Moratti are two different people, not least because of their age. I hope Thohir's Inter can win as much as Moratti's, but it'll take time and patience.

“The current President already said that I'll be staying. Moratti was an important person, he gave me the opportunity of coaching Inter.

“I stayed there four years and we won seven trophies. Sometimes I still speak with Moratti, though with Thohir I have a much more regular, weekly communication.

“Next year's Scudetto? Let's hope so. Let's play the next five games and see what happens, there will be time to think about next year.”

Finally, Mancini touched on the subject of Azzurri Coach Conte, who is expected to move to Chelsea and try and take Mauro Icardi from Inter.

“I have a good relationship with him, but I don't think I'll give him Icardi. Conte will learn English, while I hope [Leicester City Coach] Claudio Ranieri wins the Premier League.”

I could honestly fight him if I saw him right now.

Inexcusable. I'll never forgive this lineup, these subs, any of this bullshit.
